Pripyat, a city of about 50,000 people, had to be completely abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. Due to the radiation, it was left unharmed since then and will have to be so for thousands of years

The second largest man-made hole, Mirny was a city designed in the Stalin government to meet the demand for industrial diamonds.

Located in the Scottish Highlands, Eilean Donan Island was abandoned until 1911, when it was restored by a prominent retired military officer.

In the past, the island of Hashima was rich in coal, with more than 5,000 miners living there. When oil replaced coal as the first source of fuel, the island was abandoned.

The City Hall station in New York was built in 1904 and closed in 1945 because only 600 people used it daily.

Shicheng has been underwater since 1959 since the start-up of the Xin'an river hydroelectric plant. The city was founded 1300 years ago

The El Salto hotel was built in 1928 due to the great tourist attraction of the Salto del Tequendama. Eventually, the fall of water became contaminated and the visitors lost interest.
