Restaurants guide to L'Escala
If one day you are passing through L'Escala I recommend these 6 restaurants that offer very good dishes for a small budget. Let's start with the two located on the village square just in front of the small sandy beach.
The 1869
They serve full of tapas such as the Andalusian calamari, cuttlefish a la plancha. They also serve a very good breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice.
The origen
Located right next to the 1869. they offer a menu at 16 € with bread, water and wine include. The dishes are well presented and the waiters are very pleasant. In the restaurants invaded by the tourists it's important for me that the servers remain friendly I have already experienced very unpleasant waiters on holiday because they probably don't long stand all this parade of tourists. Let's go back to the menu of "L'origens", I have tried several formulas but here is the one that i liked : grilled sardines, fish sea bream a la plancha and cheese cake. The fish are fresh and delicious!
Cal Galan
It's not very far from the first two it's located in a small alley that leaves from the place of the village where is the sand beach and that reaches the second pebble beach. It's the Cal Galan family restaurant which serves two local specialties the anchovies of L'Escala served on bread rubbed with tomato and garlic and cheeks of pork, the meat is melting and the dish is delicious. There are also dishes for children. Be careful it's better to arrive early around 1 pm or 7 pm otherwise you have to wait before a place is free.
L'Alhambra
It's located at "Riells", which is located on the other side of the city in a street parallel to the promenade which runs along the main bay where the majority of bars and souvenir shops are located. This is the Alhambra where they serve one of the best paella in the area (my favorite dish) nothing to do with the frozen paellas they serve on the boardwalk for the same price! The restaurant is withdrawn and those who don't know would not necessarily be there because it's not facing the sea.
La Garota
I discovered this restaurant at noon. They make delicious paellas and in addition the view is magnificent. It's located in Montgo a few kilometers from L'Escala.
Wok You
An other restaurant that is not located in L'Escala but is worth the detour is the Wok You in Figueres, it's the principle of the self-serve buffet but its peculiarity for those who likes it's that it offers a huge amount of fish and other seafood. Yesterday for example I ate a huge crab and lots of fish and crustaceans ;-)
bien buena! rica! very classy... thank you, I don't remember hearing about L'Escala. Gracias

Cuttlesfish a la plancha about 8-10€. So delicious!!!! In Spain yes Costa Brava next to Perpignan in France.
Cuttlefish is such a great dish and you dont see it on enough menus around the world thats for sure. This seem like a good place to eat some seafood without doubt. Followed
