As a result Simba could open the door of the cage, then bit Gustavo right at the neck. Gustavo was killed before the paramedics came to his rescue. Another worker was evacuating Gustavo's body was lying lifeless in the cage Simba.

Nicolas Bravo Zoo, represented by spokesman Fernandez Perez Romero, said that despite killing officers, the 22-year-old Singa Simba will not be executed.

Instead, Romero will fix the security system at his zoo enclosure. These improvements include renovating the cage and building a new guardrail. The victim's own family did not comment much on the tragedy.
