Got an invite from a ⬆️Pump and ⬇️Dump discord channel..... (Scam alert :D)⚠️

As the title says.... Yesterday i got a DM inviting me to a pump and dump discord channel "CryptoFamilyPumps" (i kid you not this is the name). They operate on Cryptopia.
Since im a curious cat i went over to see whats that all about...
Now, i have heard of these pump and dump groups in crypto but i didnt completely understand their MO... Why are they so popular, some having tens of thousands of followers.

Pump and dump in the stock market works a bit differently and is a less scammy thus harder to catch, then what the "CryptoMansonfamily" does.
In the stock market a group would buy a microstock with low volume and low liquidity and shill it to generate interest. Its a process with a "time factor" attached to it. Once outside investors start showing up they dump the stock...
Seems easy, right?

The way it happens in the crypto sphere with pump and dump schemes like this is a bit different.... I cant be 100% sure but i know how i would do it if i wanted to cheat people out of their money..

1. First you pick a low volume, low price coin preferably on an exchange where you can affect the price greatly in a short burst.
2. A week or so back, secretly without telling your discord "family" (i.e. suckers), buy conservatively and cheaply over that time, without breaking support/resistance and accumulate a fair amount of tokens.
3. Its time to break the news to the discord channel: "PUMP FOR X COIN IN 20MINS, EXPECTED RETURNS 300%"!!!! BUY FROM PRICES 0.02$ up to 0.04$!!!
4. Step 4 is easiest... Dump the coins on them.

This is actually brilliant. See, with microstocks you basically have a period of time for distribution, but in crypto, and i kid you not, the pumps last from a few seconds to a max of 2-3 minutes.
Now thats a huge difference because with microstock pump and dumps during that time time they do a extensive promotion push, so during the pump the external investors buy up the stock. In crypto, since the Pump times are few seconds to a few minutes there is no point in shilling anything. There are no external investors. Whos going to react and buy off your shitcoin when the pump lasts a few seconds?.. No one..

Because there is no one else. No sucker to dump it all on. Theres the discord channel admin/mods and then theres you. And guess whos the sucker here.

This is basically a self contained scam. Those that wanted to participate in the scam and be scammers themselves get scammed by the people that started the scam.
Its brilliantly ironic.

One of the coins they mentioned is CAN (that was last weeks pump), and if you look at it, the price movement exhibits the same behavior as i mentioned here. There was a time for accumulation for the "Pump and Dump" group founders, a pump was announced, lasted a few seconds, coins were dumped and now.... CAN on cryptopia had a 4$ daily volume yesterday and today its 200$. If you observe the chart i set to the pump date you will see that the volume was around 6000$ for those few seconds.

Problem is when you get inexperienced average Joes selling their cars and putting their money in, without fully understanding what they are getting into. They see "%" sign behind a 3 digit number and think to them selves: "Ima buy ma mama a house and get Jenny that fine Veet razor so she can finally shave them legs."
Poor average Joe doesnt know dangerous fish swim in these waters. :(

"Pump and Dump" schemes are a accumulation of greed, stupidity, inexperience and moral bankruptcy that leads to monetary bankruptcy for those that exhibit the most of the first 3 characteristics.

My suggestion, dont be a sucker. Stay away from these people.
