Honesty as an act of love

Greetings brothers of SteemChurch and Christian-trail.

Love is not happy with injustice, because its happiness is in the truth.

1 Corinthians 13.6
We know that the truth is about a property that is in accordance with facts or reality. Everyone who chooses to be honest is in accordance with the truth. The honest individual avoids cunning and all desire to take advantage over everything and everyone. However these are ideal affirmations, we know that in certain parts being honest has its difficulties. Then the question is thrown: do you consider yourself an honest person?

The answer to the previous question may be very simple, but we know that honesty ends up becoming something complex for many. If we take into account interpersonal, social and intrapersonal relationships, honesty is a value known to all, but once or another set aside for innumerable reasons.

In the biblical context of 1 Corinthians 13 the apostle Paul describes the greatness of Divine Love and the double function of it: a) We must not wait to be loved first to return, but take the initiative and act with mercy (kindness). b) Do not rush to judge and condemn, but wait patiently (patience) for the Lord's action.

These characteristics perfectly describe the action of honesty as a sacrificial act, which is the meaning proposed by Paul in his letter to the Corinthians.

Honesty understood as an act of sacrifice is characteristic of sacrificial love, showing the same love for Christ in his mission and sacrifice for our salvation (1 John 3:16). When we act without expecting reciprocity as currency, we are understanding that every act of love is valid for those who are close to us. Honesty is the value of love expressed by Christian witness.

Every individual must be honest with himself. Everyone who is true in an intrapersonal way, recognizing their limits, discomforts and difficulties, is in the right step to understand what reciprocity there will be for those who first recognize sacrificial love for themselves as an act of honesty. Being honest with yourself is also identifying that we depend on God for our evolution and personal redemption.

Every individual must be honest with others. Everyone who is true in an interpersonal and social way, recognizing the limits of each person, understanding the difficulty of each one, without judging or seeking anything in return, understands honesty as a sacrificial act. The double characteristic of sacrificial love, kindness and long-suffering, should be a reflection of our honesty and witness to all around us.

Be honest, because only love in your happiness is able to compose the most beautiful relational poems in our lives. And always remember: God is happy with those who are faithful - The King takes pleasure in honest lips; and gives value to the man who speaks the truth. Proverbs 16.13
