Mail to Townhall major defending our neighborhood from Police asking to stop music from our balcony - Like Sun tried to stop music on Sunbook and then H(L)ive borned

This is what (my neighbor) sent to the mayor at 2 p.m, the day after we received for the third time Police asking to stop sing from the balcony between. And after Police visit us we go down to the yard respecting the security distance, but a little bit disappointed.

Mr. Mayor,

I am a journalist in particular for the national radio France Culture and I have lived since the beginning of lockdown in your town, with my companion.

Since March 17, I have been in the front row to cover an important event. Not by its size or its inscription in the aesthetic history of ideas, but rather by the human impetus it generates, this somewhat forgotten and so deep feeling of being part of a community.

We did not know each other, hardly we greet each other at the door of the elevator and we are mixed, 30 min by evening by our voices which try to unite and thus cross the walls which separate us. I am not only talking about our plaster walls but also the distance that the sanitary situation imposes on us, the anxiety-provoking awareness that this world is falling apart and the fragile hope that a new, fairer and more humanly ambitious can be born. .

Our neighbor from the 5th therefore sings, accompanied by his guitar every evening, without fail, distilling prayer and joy that only music can infuse so directly into hearts. This half hour of daily sharing is a lifeline against loneliness, a breath of fresh air in our confined days.

But we are in France and old habits seem to be anchored in the reflexes of our fellow citizens; the case is not isolated, Le Monde made a paper of it yesterday, crows and denations of all kinds are also a virus with rapid contamination. My report (the chain offers us to relate our confinements in various forms) therefore takes a different turn, you understand it, since the passage of the gendarmes yesterday, summoning the end of the noise nuisance which disturbs the tranquility of a resident of the square Irene. For music to be allowed on the balconies, a decision by the mayor would be required, they told us.

From which municipality are you the mayor, Mr. R.? Ferney, a tolerant city of culture, where recognizing citizens for their generous tribute to the well-being of the community is encouraged, or Ferney the silent where everyone at home sharpens their anxieties and where the gendarmerie comes to silence fraternal initiatives? It is on this point that I would like to be able to speak to you before closing my report. Do you have a moment to talk to me on the phone by Wednesday?

I wish you a beautiful Easter weekend, let us try to inspire us with the courage of the Hebrews when they came out of Egypt as much as with the immense hope of the resurrection,

They should allow music and singing from 7 am to 22.00 pm approximately. Many people find it difficult to bear the confinement and need similar community entertainment.
