Energy balls with dried figs and walnuts
It's the perfect snack for all day, especially if you're out of the house but want to eat healthy, it's also a small energy bomb that can be your post-workout meal, but also ideal for the moments you want something sweet. Let's analyze this recipe a bit more to know what we eat, while some fruits may lose some of their nutritional value when they dry out, for figs this is not true. They are high in iron, folic acid and potassium, on the other hand walnuts are a basic protein food. It contains ω3 fatty acids, some B complex vitamins, vitamin E, fiber, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. Finally, the unique nutritional value of oat flakes is their rich content of B vitamins, minerals, trace elements and fiber (β-glucans), the beneficial effect of which protects the cardiovascular and digestive system. If you are used to eating commercial cereal bars, try replacing them with these energy balls, since they are a healthy version of them. Most cereal bars in the market are full of sugar and fat, so you end up eating more a sweet than a healthy snack. With a few ingredients and a minimum of time you will have snacks for the whole week!
Igredients:
1/2 cup oatmeal flakes
1/2 cup of coreless dough (about 10 dherds)
1 cup of dried figs (20 dried figs)
1-2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Procedure:
In a blender, mix the oats until they are dusted, add the dough and beat until it becomes a thick paste, then add the figs, honey and oil and stir again in the blender until the mixture is homogenized. Put in a bowl and refrigerator until it freezes and becomes supple. When it's ready to roll small balls and roll them into the grated nut, we can also put nuts in the center of the ball. Sometimes I melt black chocolate with over 70% cocoa and dump the bites.
