My journey back from omugwo

Finally it has come to the end of the long whole 4 months of being away from my home.

I have been away from home for the past 4 months.

After giving birth i had gone to stay with my mum. In our tradition a woman who has just given birth especially first time mum will be asist by the mother or mother in-law in taking care of the new mum and her baby. Because it is believed that as a first time mum everything about being a mother is new to her and she need time to adjust and learn how to nurture her baby.

For the past 4 months i have received extreme love and care.
Taking care of a newborn needs alot if efforts from the new mother having someone to assist during the first few weeks is a blessing on it own

So my mum being a mother of five with lots of experience has taught me so mush about motherhood what to expect and how to handle each situation.

Despite her health condition she make sure she lend a helping hand when i needed it.

So traditionally omugwo (post natal care) last for 3 months this is because by then the new mother is no longer new to taking care of her baby.

It was finally over and was time for me to go back to my matrimonial home.

My mum came to my room earlier that morning from her face i know she was missing me already. She sat and gist with me for some time she gave me so many words of encouragement and advice. The she helped me pack my bags.

The is this garden egg i love to eat so mush. My mum planted it in her garden i already told her i will take some while going back home.

So I went round the garden to get some garden egg one of my favorite. I use this to make a very sumptuous sauce so I took some with me well preparing to go back home.

I plucked more of it enough to prepare twice.

My mum also has a plantain plantation she she gave be a huge bunch of plantain

She gave me many other foodstuff . And a special pot which is use in frying garry.I was so happy to receive such love from my parents.

Letter the cab that was to take me home arrived. My mum's health dint permit her to travel to long distance so my elder sister went on the journey back home with me.

I arrived home 3 hours letter. I had so many people coming to welcome me they were so happy to see me after months of being away. The journey was smooth and it felt good to be home.
