Defining a whore- And defining yourself.

What is a whore?
A prostitute, a hooker, a call girl, an escort. The names change, the definitions don't.

Specifically, it means being paid for sex or a sex act , which also means if a girl (or guy) doesn't engage in any sex acts, they do not fit into the definition?
It makes definition ludicrous.

What is a sex act?

That covers everything from full penetrative sex, to taking a girl out for dinner, and everything in between.
Taking a girl out to dinners isn't a sex act?

It is if the male participant is turned on by the thoughts of having sex with this girl and if the male participant masturbates that night thinking about her,( because he goes home alone) is this then an act of sex ?
(sorry girl's, it happens - a lot).

Is the girl an unwitting whore, because he paid for her time, her meal?

His muse, to get sexually excited?

The broad nature of what defines an act of sex, makes it totally meaningless - and can only be truly known by the individual, and what's in the individuals mind.
A secret.

Because definitions of what a sex act actually is - the very broadness of what encompasses it , is legislation built on foundations of sand.

Moral outrage of being paid for sex is neither logical, or intellectually honest.

It is a transaction occurring every night, by the millions, all over the world - and has been ever since societies got together.

This can be direct financial agreement between the parties, or a more subtle transaction of nights out, meals, a trip on a yacht, whatever.
You see, the dynamic is the same, and it human nature. It is nothing evil. (unless your perception of human beings is an evil state, of course).

Which brings me to deciding if you are whore or not?

My definition of being a whore, is being paid - consciously - to spend time with someone.

No one else can decide what constitutes an act of sex for you, because the very definitions of it are so subjective and vague, as to become meaningless.

It's is about the commitment of time from one individual to another- in exchange for money.

That makes the definition very clear, and avoids any ambiguity.

That makes nearly everyone with a job, a whore.

How many of you, employed by someone else, would willingly participate in the giving of 40 or 50 hours a week - of your time - your life, without monetary reward?
( I wonder how many people are employed, that are in the sexual fantasies of their bosses, each night?)

There is no line to be drawn, because it only exists in the minds of individual. Their own subjective morality and interpretation in respect to sexual relations.

Our time is the only thing - our only asset - we posses.

The only commodity we have, to exchange.

What monetary value you attribute to your time, is also an entirely personal choice.

Some people are happy allocating $10 an hour to their time value.

Some will only accept $200 an hour, for giving there time to someone.

Who is the cheap whore ?

We are all whores, to one degree or another.

Society sanctions the moral high ground for condemnation of activities - activities that are not so much morally wrong - but maybe more of a reflection on ourselves- and how little we value we put on our own lives.
Our own time.
Moral indignation blinds people. In doing so, it avoids the hard questions of having to ask yourself about the value of your time.

It's about how we allocate the value of our assets, nothing more.

Sort:

You have a few logical fallacies here, but none as bad as most legal systems.....

Your conclusion is dead on. Also, we're all whores in some way or another. Hiding behind the high ground will never change that simple fact.

Thanks. Now if i could find those heels, I'll hit the street........lol

Also, time isn't "the only thing we possess." Can we really own time? We manage time, just like any other reaource, it is limited so we manage it.

If it a resource, it's a commodity.

In economics, a commodity is a marketable item produced to satisfy wants or needs. (wiki)

We own that commodity to allocate as we see choose

And it generally only flows one way, especially in normal life...

I do agree that paying for something shouldn't codify it as a crime though. How ia that in any way moral? Not paying for it would actually be the crime, as is the instance of dinner or a cab ride.

Taking someone out to dinner is not related to a sex act, for one. Like if I take my mother-in-law out to dinner, that's a sex act?.....eeewww!

Taking someone out to dinner is not related to a sex act, for one.

To you maybe not, but it may be to some people, is my point.
It's a subjective thing, not objective.

Oops!!!!! Did I accidentally flag this???? Oh crap... I’m sorry if I did lol still getting used to this.

Harsh truth huh.

I've been a full-time whore once, slave to the cheap corporate wage, dry walls, private cubicle, 40+ hours/week, sometimes I will be asked to render service on weekends. Ahhhh, enough. TIRED.

Sad how people judge whores when in fact, we are all whores.

Exactly the point.

very wise words

@lucylin,

Salutations.

Truly enjoyed yor post.

I am JaiChai.

And if I haven't had the pleasure to make your acquaintance, it's very nice to meet you.

RE: Your Post

It's a mystery to me why the words "whore" and "mercenary" have negative connotations.

In reality EVERYONE engages in those activities.

Is the majority of the world's population suffering from a "Self-Righteous Mass Delusion" - unconsciously, hypocritical?

Hmmm...

Upvoted and following you now.

Namaste,

JaiChai

That's a pretty original beautiful post here, very nice reasoning :-)

thank you, sir!

I prefer the term wage-slave. It's more descriptive because my slave wage gets ripped off by the government. Honestly, it's slavery, because if I miss more than 4 days work, without putting in for time off, I'm treated like a slave, I'm questioned and interrogated and can even get "written up."
Sovereign and free people don't have to worry about such things. Like most people, I'd love to be one of those carefree sovereign people.

I guess I qualify as one of those people, in away- but it does costs, never think it doesn't.

Being free isn't free.

That hit me like a truck...wow..

hope it didn't hurt too much! lol

Check, @lucylin, so that you don't get flagged for not using the NSFW tag.

Thanks Mary, but why would I get flagged for not using that tag, on this post?

A picture of a girls leg? - I doubt it.

The whore word lololol.

Irony lol, definitely not suited for work.

"Whoring" isn't morally outrageous, it's a fact of life. Every being exchanges resources for a better life. Thus exchanging money for sex is also fine, in my books. Why some countries outlaw it, I don't know. I agree it shouldn't be encouraged, but it shouldn't be illegal either. In fact, making it legal would benefit all. Regulations would exist for health safety, governments would get taxes, "whores" get to make a living and clients get their desired product.

Agree with all your points.
Except the regulations.
Government deserve nothing from anybody's sweat, no matter how it's earned.

I disagree. Anarchy is an utopia. You need laws and regulation to not devolve into feudalism. So, humans created governments. We can argue how much regulations, because I oppose the level it has risen in this day and age, but eliminating it completely is stupid.

I wasn't arguing about eliminating anything - I said the government doesn't deserve anything from our labors. Very different.
(transaction tax on finance, as a 'off the top my head' example)

You say you're not arguing for eliminating anything, yet you argue for eliminating all taxes. How do you expect a government to function and uphold law? So yes, they do deserve taxes, because they're providing services to all. We can argue about the level of taxation, a point that most likely I'll agree, as I do think governments have become too big these days.

taxes were never a 'thing' until recently in society, you do know that right?
We are getting off topic slightly -

State and federal inheritance taxes began after 1900, while the states (but not the federal government) began collecting sales taxes in the 1930s. The United States imposed income taxes briefly during the Civil War and the 1890s. In 1913, (wiki)

Are you kidding me? There were always taxes, but before there was no law to govern them. The people with the bigger sticks just took what they wanted.

upvoted and restemmed

something I often used to say, I said even once to colleague if I were a girl, I would much rather be a camgirl and earn a lot of money by having a nice with myself than doing a job which suck and where I get paid bad

btw your gf showed me this post

Thanks, I'm glad you liked.
yep - time is too valuable to send all your life in a job.- hours, I mean.
