Glory Hole Lake Berryessa

in WORLD OF XPILAR4 years ago (edited)

Officially named "Morning Glory Spillway", but people gave a nickname of "Glory Hole", is a famous man made with 200 feet dropped drain to prevent an overflow of Montecello Dam at lake Berryessa, Woodland. Sacramento. CA.

We weren't that lucky to see the water suck down since water is receding, Morning Glory Spillway will work in certain level of water and that most likely from February through May.

If you notice both sides, the road has differences, to the left get more trees and green because has a big water stream flowing along the road and to the right side tends to be more hilly and dry.

Is common in Northern California to see some bold hills and desert, while in hot summer will cause natural wildfire as the heat rises.

Looking at the pictures you have shown, it seems that the lake is actually very beautiful.

Actually the scenery more beautiful if you see in person.
