Sometimes
Sometimes I see people at the gym talking to each other. Let me explain: I'm supposed to need time to do my sets, to exercise, and they come looking for something to talk about. Maybe they have a lot of free time. I don't, so I do what I know how to do very well: answer yes or no according to what they say. If they say yes, I say yes, and if they say no, I say no. Hahaha.
I know I can be rude sometimes, I admit it, but we arrive at the gym with something already in mind and many of us don't have time to socialize. In fact, some people even get annoyed with these people. I don't get annoyed, but they do when they see my replies. Well, that's what it's all about, hahaha.
Many of us who train here work, we have limited time, but some don't know what to do. They go to the treadmill and run for a while, then they just stare and stare, hahaha. I watch and it makes me laugh a little. I think: "That's it, he's tired. If he does the sets I do, he'll probably faint, hahaha."
I go to the gym very early, I like to find everything clean.When these people approach, they always say, "Good morning," and I know what comes next, hahaha. Well, I start my day smiling, but they should respect other people's time. That's my humble opinion.

You remind me of my mother, when she meets some friends who talk too much she limits herself to saying YES and NO, however the ladies continue talking hahaha, mother tells them, I'll call you so we can continue talking, I don't have much time right now.
I believe many respond that way or they don't even say yes or no, just listen.
If not in the mood I avoid meeting people and for sure not tell them I will call. No way, they talk for hours on my expenses..

My opinion is that some people have a lot of free time, but others of us aren't so lucky; we have goals that we have to work and strive for.
I see plenty of people with lots of time but they are rarely the gossipers.
Some people don't consider other people's time. I imagine your mother trying to avoid her friends, hahaha. It's difficult to avoid people you don't know, and even more those who are part of your circle of friends.
I know exactly what you mean. Let them socialize after they left the gym in the canteen. These people you see everywhere, at work included.
