MacGyver Moments
On a recent trip to Cincinnati, OH, myself and two of my friends did our best MacGyver impressions.
Yes, the gentleman on the roof has a boot on from a partially torn Achilles’ tendon - it is his truck and he locked the keys inside.
I took this picture before walking to the passenger side door where I could visually guide the portable tent pole that we used to move the lock on the drivers side - if you think that is comical it gets better, we used a skateboard to pry the window back for the tent pole to slide into the truck.
Surprisingly, the plan worked and we had the door open in about 15 minutes.
We had incentive to finish quickly because the food we ordered earlier at the cafe had just come out of the kitchen - funny what a fresh burger will do for a man’s imagination.
As I laughed at this picture afresh today, the the thought came to me of starting with what we have rather than waiting till circumstances are perfect to begin.
Personally, my tendency is to plan things out from beginning to end and manage the changes as they come. I don’t get uptight if things do change, and tend to be pretty flexible and calm as they do. However, my problem is that it takes awhile to begin, and there are opportunities missed in time that I can not recover.
Seeing this hysterical scenario play out was a brilliant reminder to me that sometimes, you just need to start where you are. The big dreams or plans we have for the future may still happen, but it is good to engage and let the memories come as they may.

Thanks for the laugh! Haven’t been on here for a lonnnggggg time, and some comic relief was welcome. Loved the last paragraph...very fitting for some things I have in the works right now!
So good to hear from you friend! I trust you are well and having a wonderful summer. Blessings to you!
We are having a wonderful summer after a pretty rough year. Alas, the summer is coming to an end, and I wish it could go on forever!! Blessings to you as well. It’s good to be back.
I used to do that a lot until I got a set of keys that wirelessly locked the doors - no more locking the keys inside for me - Oh, and the headlights automatically shut off - no more drained batteries - Writers - their minds are always somewhere else, lol
Lol, I know that feeling.
It also helps to have a sense of humor, which you apparently have.
I like to think so, lol.
Agreed! Take time to not miss the fun parts!
Exactly!
I think that now being in the steemit community, the future has come true because we interact with friends from all over the world and share experiences as fun as the ones you present today LOL. Receive a warm hug @ lydon.sipe
I have a massive project that I'm trying to start by learning Fusion 360. If I can learn (enough) of that, I can at least do the heavy-duty design work...
😄😇😄
Enjoying the life in style in @lydon.sipe style ;)
