Our Trip to Noah's Ark Part 3
Boy that is one big boat. The ark was still being constructed while we were there. The work to be done was mostly for the elevators that will transport live animals to and from the ark each day. There will be a zoo just outside the ark where the animals will stay each night once the ark exhibit is closed to the public for the day.
Yes, that is my dear mother there checking out the storage concept that AIG put together. There is of course artistic license taken with this type of thing. You can see the stacks of grain or other dry goods stacked together. The orange pales are for liquids that were transported to the animal's holding cells. There are larger pales depicted in each cell that acted as a permanent piece that just needed refilled once they were low.
One of the most incredible items for us was that each wax figure that was in the display was hand made. There were a few videos that showed the HOURS of creativity that went into art like this. Each hair had to be sown into the styrofoam mold. The eyes had to be set just right to bring the animal to life. The amount of care placed into each piece is astounding. There are even a few dinosaurs that make an appearance in the ark.
In the end all I can say is, GO SEE IT! Whether you are a person of religion, atheist, or just plain curious, it is worth your time. It is something that your kids will enjoy, and it will bring the kid out in you. I for one left the ark in wonder of what AIG had accomplished, and even more amazed wondering how Noah and his family accomplished such a feat.
