Must visit place in Nepal ( Tilicho Lake, Highest Lake in the World )
Hello Steemians !!
I was in Nepal around this time last year. I visited many places while I was in Nepal. I will share you those experiences in upcoming blogs, but today I would like to share with you about this place in Nepal called Tilicho Lake. You might be wondering what is so special about this Lake that you are sharing with us before you are sharing your experiences in Nepal. TBH I went to Nepal because I really wanted to visit this place, but I couldn't because of health problems. Today, I saw a video on youtube about this place and made me feel very upset thinking about I was so close, but couldn't reach my destination.
Tillicho Lake is situated at Nasyang Village of Manang region, Nepal which is at the altitude of 4,917 meters from the surface. You must be now wondering that wow!! That’s hell lot of altitude. Yes, It is the lake on the highest altitude at it's size, and you probably know that when we are at the higher altitude Oxygen level decreases significantly and you will probably get altitude sickness.
Tilicho lake is around 23 miles from Upper Manang. I reached until MukhtiNath temple, Mustang and from here it was still a day walk to Upper Manag.
You must be thinking that It’s only 23 miles from where you were, how come it takes a day? Then Let me tell you this, you have to literally walk cliffs, wooden bridges, cross ice-cold streams and may see snowfall along the way. You have to basically be ready to cope with tiredness, weather and anything that your journey brings. For some people, that's where an advantures comes, but for some, that could be a nightmare because health condition could worsen.
Does it worth it? Yes and No both. Yes, because you will be able to see never seen, untouched beauty of the planet earth, and No because you could get seriously sick if you are not physically fit to walk on the higher altitude.
I would love to go to this place, but I couldn’t go on my last visit, but would definitely go to this place on my next visit.
Hundreds of people visit this place every year not only to see the beauty it holds, but for the religious purpose as well.
Tilicho Lake is thought to be imperatively religious. Before, Hindu lord, Shiva has did
austerity on the shore of the lake and Kagarnini sage did meditation to receive the enlightenment. Hindu believers take this difficult journey to pray and fast.
