As life passes day by day, we find days that add beautiful memories to our lives. So my best day in the past week of my life is 13/04/2024. I think this day is a very special day for the Sinhala and Hindu people living in my country, so I think this day must be their best day.

Because this month of April is the beginning of the Sinhala Hindu New Year season which is celebrated by the Sinhala and Hindu people of my country. So, with the advent of this Sinhala Hindu New Year, several related cultural rituals are performed at the same auspicious time.

All the people who celebrate the Sinhala and Hindu New Year perform these rituals according to the same auspicious time after the New Year's Eve.This year, the Sinhala New Year dawned on the night of the thirteenth of April, and the auspicious ritual of burning the stove, which is the most special ritual of the Sinhala and Hindu New Year, dawned a few hours after the New Year's Eve. The unique aspect of this cultural ritual is that it takes place on the basis of the housewife of the house. Here milk is spilled to symbolize prosperity.It is also a special thing that everyone in the house is involved in this. On that day, my mother, father, I and my husband participated in the performance of these rituals.

This is how milk overflowed in our house as a symbol of prosperity. All of us watched the process impatiently from around the bowl of milk until it was empty. After that, my mother prepares the milk rice and sweets needed for the meal and I helped her for that. It is common practice to pray for the New Year at the moment this milk runs out. My husband and I made a fresh hopeful wish for it when the milk ran out.

So the special feature of this Sinhala Hindu New Year season is that this season is a time when all the family get together and say goodbye to work and perform these auspicious rituals with the family members. This time I was able to celebrate the New Year with my beloved husband. Because the husband could not take the annual leave due to a special duty. So this time I am happy that my husband can celebrate the Sinhala Hindu New Year with me, that's why it is a special day for me.

Due to my husband's job, I can spend a lot of time with him on very few days. That's why every moment he is at home is very special for me. I am very happy that he is with me to perform all the auspicious rituals and spend this festival season in a fun way during this Sinhala Hindu New Year celebration. Every day with him is a best day for me.
