Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council has canceled the registration of about 50,000 registered students for intermediate examinations in February 2018. Documents of these students, who were registered as a private candidate were found to be fake in the investigation.
Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council Secretary Nina Srivastava said that documents of nearly 50,000 students were found to be fake in the investigation. Of these, approximately 18,000 students are from the Meerut region. About 12,000 people from Varanasi region, about 11,000 from Allahabad area and about 10,000 students from Gorakhpur area whose documents were found to be fake.
