Are You Ready to be Ready?
This is indeed an intriguing question. Tell you what. Nobody is ever ready to do something new. Everybody always has doubts and fears. Not to generalize but reality wise, we are vulnerable to unexpected changes coming our way. We are often afraid to get out from our comfort zones. We tend to get lost and find ourselves nowhere. Have you ever had that kind of feeling?
Career
I took up Nursing due to influence. Not that I didn't choose it myself but I fell inlove with the whole idea of me, becoming just like my Mom, who is also a Nurse. I was doing fine back in my University days but ofcourse, I still did mess up. In any way or another, I actually didn't have what I wanted figured out yet. When I got my degree and passed the boards, believe me, I was struggling to death. Most of my relatives put a lot of pressure to insisting that I work as a Nurse because that's the way it is. I usually had to fight off my desires til I get myself ready for it.
Job
I gotta admit I'm guilty with this. When I was an undergraduate, I jumped from one line of business to another. Being in a BPO company was waaay too far from the major I had. It's frustrating answering most questions relating to why I chose the industry, etc. I had to skip the queue just to avoid such interrogation. I was afraid that if I get in that, I might screw up big time. I worked as an English tutor for foreigners, became a brand ambassador for some leading labels. I also became a speaker for a Handwashing Campaign and along with that, I was offered a job to become a company nurse for some time. Now, I'm connected in one of the biggest Medical Accounts in the U.S. See, it's still not in line totally with my profession but I say it's the nearest I could be.
When life hits us hard, we either learn from it or be forced to embrace revisions that we were not assuming of since we didn't really have a choice. Experience may vary from person to person. The good thing about it is that we get to resolve within ourselves that sometimes, what we're looking for may come at a very undesirable time wherein we never see it coming. We may not have gotten what we fancy for in the meantime. The best thing we have to set our mind into is to entirely accept that we can still be in a position wherein we're not pushing ourselves to be where we should be but somehow, we're still at the edge of figuring things out by ourselves what we aspire for, and that's okay.

The expectations vs. Reality arena. Either way, I appreciated your approach in life. Keep up :)
I'm with you in this. Reality is far different from what we thought life is. Thanks for noticing.
Seems like our degree is just a ticket for a concert in general admission. Present at the show but far from the reality. I wonder how I may end up after I graduate in engineering.
My favorite teacher once shared that nobody, at least from the people he knew, is ever 100% ready. He further said that you don't need to reach that before you make a move. I've always believed him and I've always grabbed every chance I get to make a move. I'm glad that you chose to adapt that mindset, @maimaimaichan :) It may not have been the path you initially planned to follow, but it made you who you are now.
I couldn't agree more. We all have different pacings. We just have to stick with all the decisions we made. I may not have all I entirely wanted but I'm living gladly. Thanks for noticing, @thegaillery 😌
