Donation of 15 Laying Hens + Food from OpenByte (Byteball)

in #charity5 years ago (edited)

After the contest of Steem Use-a-Thon by Byteball The directive of Obyte contacted me and offered to work with them to carry out projects of interest within Venezuela.

Happily I accepted their proposal and now we work together!

The first project we are working on is called PolloPollo

It consists of the donation of 15 egg-laying hens, with the food necessary for their growth up to 6 months (at 6 months they begin to lay eggs).

With this donation, the family will have the way to:

-Produce protein for consumption.

-Get a source of monetary income when selling eggs.

The best of all is that we work with blockchain technology and without intermediaries.

My job was to convince the owner of the hens shops to accept bytes as a method of payment and thus be able to apply the advantages of blockchain technology in the project.

To make the payment of the donation, we use an intelligent contract between the wallet of the vendors of the hens and the wallet of the beneficiary family:

The hen seller could see the donation money in his wallet ($ 50) but could not move the money until the beneficiary family did not unlock the funds from the other wallet ...

When they see the money their your account, the store must save the chickens and the food for the family ... But the money will not be unlocked until the delivery is completed

Using blockchain technology and smart contracts we can work without intermediaries

This family was chosen for the donation because they have the necessary cages to raise the chickens and they already had previous knowledge on the subject.

Once the laying hens are delivered, the beneficiary family unlocks the funds, the owner of the store can change his bytes to bolivares using the exchange house Capybara.

Monthly report

The contact with the beneficiary families must be maintained to visit them once a month to make sure that they have not sold the chickens or the food (to make sure that everything goes correctly).

1 Month later

A month later this is how the laying hens look, they are growing strong and healthy!

And this is the amount of food that still remains (enough for 2 more months) At the end of the meal for the first 3 months we will make another donation for the 3 months that are missing...

As a vegan I don't think this is an ethical way to make money. I believe this is animal cruelty.
