Firstly, I would like to thank @Healthy Steem for coming up with great ideas for the challenge and contest post every week. Such topics are informative and helpful for the readers.

What is the medical process behind aging and from which age it actually starts?

Aging is a complex natural process that is still not fully understood. However, there is enough information available that helps us get some idea as to what happens behind the scenes. Firstly, over time, our cells suffer damage due to various reasons. As we get older, our bodies become less effective and efficient at healing this damage. And that shows up in our various organs.

Also, the chromosomes in our cells have a protective cap called telomeres. As our cells divide, these telomeres become shorter and shorter. Over decades, the shortening is quite significant and that results in the cells becoming inactive. This leads to signs of aging.

As for the age, it is often said that we start showing signs of aging at around 25 years of age. Some experts also say that it is after 30 years of age that our organs begin to show signs.


Are you afraid of becoming older and if yes then what are the challenges of aging that are making you afraid of getting older?

No, I am not afraid of aging because I have accepted that it’s a process of life and our ultimate destination in life is to be liberated and that is possible only after many cycles of life and death. So, in this life, my goal is to do good deeds, learn from every phase of life, keep growing, and finally die happily.

Write any three nutritional items that can prevent aging.

There is nothing in this world that can prevent aging. You can slow the process for sure but you can’t prevent or stop this natural process.

There are many nutritional items that can reduce the aging process or slow down the aging process. These are:

Nuts: Nuts are a good source of vitamin E, which helps to retain moisture in the skin, repair skin tissues, and protect our skin from UV damage.

Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolates are full of anti-oxidates, which protect our skin from the sun, and nourish our skin by improving skin moisture.

Fruits and veggies like Avocado, broccoli, tomato, and sweet potatoes have anti-aging properties as these are full of vitamins that protect our skin and provide glow.


Write any three exercises that can make you look young even in older age.

Doing regular exercise can slow cells aging, and improve blood flow in our body which results in glowing and healthy skin. Exercise not only helps us to stay young physically, but it also helps us to stay fit mentally.

The three exercises that can make you look younger than your age are:

Aerobics: Aerobics is a physical exercise that focuses on stretching and strengthening of the overall body which improves the blood circulation, and functioning of cells and tissues which results in anti-aging.

Squats: In my opinion, to stay young and fit, one must have strong legs. So, squats are the best exercise to stay fit and make us feel young even in old age.

Walking: Walking is the best and easiest exercise one can do, which has many benefits. If someone says, he or she is too busy to exercise, then I suggest they walk at least 10000 steps a day. It might sound tough but you can manage by walking when you are talking over a call, taking a few steps to your nearby store rather than going in the car. One just needs to be conscious of the fact that one can easily take 10000 steps a day even in a busy schedule.

Hello @manisha.jain9, it is true that aging is not truely understood due to the fact that people of the same age may not look outwardly the same. Some gets older in physique than their mates. That may be as a result of how we take care of our body.

Accepting the fact that you will become old gives you hope and confidence in life and not fear. So when you start now to take the necessary nutrients, it will boost your immune system, there by preparing you for old age. Exercise also is another way that helps in slowing down aging.

Hey @manisha.jain9, how is India today? After reading your entry, I love the way you set your goals towards learning throughout the phases of life and doing good. Just like you, I do not fear old age, I rather prepare for the challenges that comes with it. Nuts are very rich in vitamins as well as vegetables and fruits, these are good nutritional items you listed. Squatting and walking are perfect for the body's build up, even for the young.

Aging is a natural and inescapable phenomenon that happens to people who are advanced in age. When the skin loses its elasticity and the bones begin to wear off, then aging has begin. To some people, It is an added advantage but it is a suffering period for other. This relied on how your adulthood was. You completely nailed down every points mentioned. Good luck on your post.
