When you heard the wordmoderator (mod), what comes to your mind? Do you know their work? especially in this community? Whether yes or no is your answer, keep reading, I promise you that maybe, before reading to the end, you will learn a new thing. Maybe something unique about mods to which am one of them. First of all, let's look in to their works.

The work of a mod

A mod is a person whom the work of verifying posts made in a community is bestowed upon. Verifying of posts include:

• Counting of words
• Checking plagiarism
• Checking the rules
• If a post is harmonious
• Club status
• Content depth

At this stage, you may be wondering why and the importance of all the above mentioned works of a community mod. To neutralize your quest, briefly, let me talk about each of them.

Counting of words

What I mean is that here in steemalive community, the expected number of words in a post is minimum of 300/350. Though, it varies. Yes, steemalive runs contests weekly which may require more words. So, mods do count the words base on law guiding each post(contest or normal post) and Duplichecker makes the work easier.

Plagiarism checking

Plagiarism is an offense that one should not dare to commit in his/her journey as a steemian because, if caught, will nullify many years of faithful service irrespective of your level. To carry out the work successfully, we do make use of same tool above🖕. It serves two different purposes. Next is

Checking the rules

If a post is base on contest, sure, there must be rules guiding the contest. So, before verifying such post, a mod must check if the contestant abides by the rules.

harmonization of a post

The topic of a post matters much. The mods must check deeply if the post harmonized with the caption (title).

Club status

If one must excel in this our steem journey, belonging to a club is essential. But, attimes, steemians may be thinking that they are still in club while, unknowingly, they're not. Therefore, it's the work of mods to check club status of each individual they want to verify his/her post and if the person is out of club, then, we will remind and encouraged them to rejoin. Content depth

I mentioned earlier that the number of words contained in a post is of high value. To be at the safe side, exceed 350-400 words in each post.

Conclusion

With this update, I believe that we all have seen the role of mods in this platform. Though our work is not limited to all mentioned above. Therefore, to lighten the burden, I, on behalf of other mods is pleading that we all should also make use of all the above mentioned tools to check our posts before posting.
