Some participants of the Rally-Walk

*

Hello friends from Sri-Lanka. I work at the Universidad de Oriente - Cumaná, culture sector. During my student life I participated in many activities. But here I want to tell you about one of the many activities I organized.

It's called Rally-Walk. What is it about? It's a two-person walk around the university campus to answer a questionnaire.

I did the questionnaire and it had 20 questions and 5 tasks. The Rally-Walk has a specific route. Each question answered correctly equals 1 point. Each task done correctly wins a pennant and 1 point. In total, 25 points had to be scored in the shortest possible time.

The first step was to publicize the day on which the Rally-Walk would take place. On the appointed day, registrations were made and each pair of participants was given a participation number.

At 10:00 am, the first couple was given the first questionnaire. Within one minute of each other, the questionnaires were handed out to the following participants.

The questions were related to the university world. There were also questions about general culture.

As I like complicated but entertaining games, I tried to make sure that the answers could not be found on the Internet.

Some questions that were in the questionnaire:

What's the name of the man who sells ice cream at the entrance of the university?

How many steps are there in the staircase of the Social Sciences-Plaza of the Oceanographic Institute?

How much does a highlighter cost in the Basic Courses paper shop?

What is the name of the film being shown in the Auditorium?

What is the message in the blue well? (I placed a message there)

As for the tasks, I had students and workers helping me in those activities. When the Rally-Walk participants came to the task the fiscals (that's what we called them) told them what they had to do to achieve the flag. There were 5 tasks.

Examples of the tasks:

  • Peel two green mango
  • Disguise yourself
  • Find 5 white stones in a very large square

Finding the white stone and flags earned for tasks performed.

When the participants had all the questionnaire answered (or almost all) and the tasks completed, they returned to the starting point to hand it in.

There were the judges who marked the time of arrival and began to place the points.

Judges

I must say that all the cultural staff worked for this activity. They said they liked what I organized. So everyone collaborated and it was a day of many laughs and anecdotes.

While we waited for the results, we prepared a table with fruit and water for the students. The participants ate and hydrated themselves.

They were shouting because their adrenaline was high. They also started exchanging the answers they remembered and were euphoric to know who had won.

Finally, I spoke into the microphone. I thanked them for participating. I read them the questionnaire and gave them the correct answers.

This activity can be done anywhere. It needs to be well organized and all the details need to be taken into account. If it is well planned, everyone will have a great day.

To remember is to live. I have remembered many anecdotes making this post. I hope you enjoyed it!

Hmm.. sounds interesting. Hey this one is awsome. 😒 we didn't have such cool fun games. All were super boring senior biased things.. I remember there was such a challenges for girl guides at school. Thank you for sharing. Love it

I definitely have to travel to Sri-Lanka to organize a rally, hahahahaha.
