A Slice of Life

This cactus is growing in front of my house, close to the street. Since Covid19, I haven't left my house/garden very often and almost missed these beautiful flowers. I took my trash out to the curb - that is how I discovered it. Since I practice sustainable living, I don't produce much trash and hardly ever take the bins out to be collected. I was lucky to see these beauties.

Isn't this green and beautiful? Let me tell you, this is not my backyard! It is a gorgeous property in Utah where my husband's daughter got married last Saturday. Due to many life circumstances, he was there and sent me this photo, I was at home watching the going ons via Zoom.

This is what my backyard looks like now in all areas that are not watered. The California sun is busy turning everything into what we call gold here, but what is really brown, dead plants. Calling it gold shows you that we can see beauty in everything.
Of course, the butterfly is very beautiful and I am happy to say that I see many of them in my yard.

These guys are patiently waiting for me to finally plant them into the ground. I better get off my butt and start planting before they grow too big in the seed pack. See you all tonight - maybe.
