Hello, great people of @steem4nigeria, I greet you all.
Welcome to another season of the steem engagement contest and congratulations upon being picked for this season.

This is an exciting topic that I am eager to write about; my presidential manifesto.

Introduction

I am by names of Uwera Marie, a 33years old Ugandan. I come from the western northern part of Uganda, which also known as the pearl of africa. I am a Munyarwanda(from Rwanda) by birth but a Mufumbira by the tribe. I guess my parents ran to the borders of Rwanda and Uganda during genocide times and settled in Uganda.

I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism but I am a businesswoman owning a gift shop.
I practiced journalism for a short time but later found a passion in business.

Analyze the current state of my country.

I have known one president since I was born and he has so far ruled for 35yrs.
My country is full of corruption because it's only old aged people who have refused to resign and gave been in office for a long time.
Uganda is in a very bad state now because there is a high increment of items; foodstuff and fuel.
During one of their recent presidential addresses, he said "if people cannot manage bread, let them buy cassava"which I found selfish for a president to say such a thing.
It came days after the minister had said that "if people cannot afford soap, let them use cassava leaves to wash" this indicated how the higher people in government don't care about the people they are ruling.
Uganda's current state is at its worst state as of now due to the dictatorship of the president. it's a free country but we are not free indeed.

Why I think I will be suitable for the position of president.

  • First, I am a citizen who holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and this is the qualification one needs to stand for a presidential post.

  • Iam an outspoken person who believes that helping others be better it's something that makes one much better. I am a people person who has got people's desires at heart.

  • I am a good communicator and a good listener. I believe that I can be a good voice for the voiceless.

  • I love my country and I would love to see it develop in so many ways.ie tourism, job creation, the education system, and the health sector.

The most pressing problems that my citizens are facing?

  • Unemployment.
There is a lot of unemployment in my country. most offices are occupied by old people who have spent over 40-50yrs serving and do not wish to resign and create space for the young fresh graduates.
The youth is being told to create jobs but they lack the resources to do that and hence unemployment.

  • Poor payment of the government workers.
The healthy and education government sector underway its workers yet these people put in too much labor.
It's so heartbreaking when you find someone who is saving lives and giving knowledge to our children being underpaid.

  • Corruption.
There is a lot of corruption in Uganda. everywhere there is corruption in the private sector or government sector. among the young or the old.
Everywhere you turn there is corruption.it's eating citizens up every day.

  • Poor infrastructure.
Due to bad roads,s there are a lot of traffic jams in Uganda.
Most Uganda roads have potholes and also lack water outlets. this causes flooding when it rains on the roads which result in accidents and traffic congestion.

Solutions to the problems

  • I would apply strict measures and apply strict laws against corruption.
However, breaking the law will face it without favour.

  • Set an age limit for workers. However, clocks 65years should not be still working but retire and create room for the youth.

  • Increase payments of workers in the health sector and education sector because they put in too much work.

Do you have any innovations you are bringing in?
Yes I do.

  • Legalise crypto currency in Uganda.
Recently a law was passed by bank of Uganda suspending most of cryptos in Uganda.
The youth are becoming more active and catching up by earning a living through crypto trading and this has helped them build up themselves.

I invite @marjor , @ariseandshine, @patjewell and @faithmuwonge to take part in this challenge

I remain the aspiring presidential candidate

Uganda is a very important country in east Africa and for that reason its development should take priority.

Thanks too

he said "if people cannot manage bread, let them buy cassava" which I found selfish for a president to say such a thing.
It came days after the minister had said that "if people cannot afford soap, let them use cassava leaves to wash"

Word of disgrace coming from the whole nation ruler, is a sign that indicates that the people in power are not concerned about the welfare of the people

You have stated the pressing issue of Uganda, poor Infrastructure, bad governance, corruption and poor payment of workers.

These pressing problems are what your Excellency will battle at the face of the office and the solution you have stated will see to the beginning of a new clean nation
Best wishes

Thank you dear @olabillions ,he has ruled us for so long that he feels he doesnt need the agreement and the support of his supporters since he has the whole government in his hands

Africa as a whole is in deep mess. Corruption has swallowed us up. To think that one president will rule a country for 35 years is ridiculous.

My dear rise to the seat of President, you have what it takes. Change the situation of the country positively.

God help you!

Thank you dear @tmighty for your words of encouragement.
We are praying for a better person to come through come the next elections.
May God help us for sure

wow I'm amazed to here that only one president has been ruling since you were born these actually showcase the selfishness, greediness and uncaring attitude of the government. What I can only say is your country needs an amendment to her constitution to allow people with better ambition for the country to take over... I wish all the citizens of Uganda well..

Nice entry I wish you luck
Gracias

Thank you dear @kennydavebobo ,the age limit law should be passed through because use this one has just become a dectator.

May God see us through
