The red-black striped bug sitting and nectaring a purple flower
As, you are shooting macros, you have probably noticed, that the light is a huge problem. Because you are so close to the subject and the F stops are between f/2.8 to f/12 you have some decision to make.
Low f/stop gives you, a good light and a beautiful shallow depth of field and crisp focus. The down side is that you only get around 0.7mm focus field, everything else is blurred. Ok, what to do now? Focus stacking ( will go into that next time)
High f/stop gives you, lower shallow depth of field, crisp focus and a slightly bigger focus field. The down side is that you need light a lot of light. Flash is perfect, but after some time, it gets boring and you need to get samo more colors into the photos.

Beautiful colors. Amazing photo. The best 🤘✊
Thanks, bro!
very beautiful 😊😊
Thank you so much 🍀
This is great. I love that you can see the little hairs on it.
I know exactly what you mean about the problem with finding the right f stop to shoot these images at. It gets even worse when you put extension tubes on because the depth of field gets stupid shallow. You might as well throw any type of auto focus out the window at that point.
I have been so busy lately that I havent been able to take any new macro shots. I need to get out and find something to get pictures of soon.
Thank you for you kind words. It motivates me, to do more!
Extension tubes are good tools but not for every photo... I rarely use extension tubes, because I don't like to do focus stacking. I think, is only good to do portrait of the insects.
I have patience but, this is not for me/ maybe, it will change with years.
I follow you! Love to se same of your macro work.
Very beautiful ... It looks like a harlequin...

You make me like more and more the macro photography although I never liked bugs and the thought of photographing them never ever has crossed my mind.
My aim is to show that the smartphone can be a good start for a beginer.
