Afraid That People Get To Know You?
Lately I've been having a lot of discussions with many different people about privacy, being open and sharing feelings and thoughts. Today I want to give you my 2 cents.

I don't Want Them To Know
I know a few people who share pretty much anything, and also a few who seem to be keeping their whole life and then some to themselves. The rest is of course somewhere in the middle. It really interests me why people are so afraid to let other people know about them. Being very open myself I use the idea that:
"I don't mind being open and sharing about my life, even the sensitive parts, because I own my life, I own my actions, I own my success and I own my mistakes. I try to take full responsibility for my life and think about my actions and choices and am therefore not afraid to have them be exposed, investigated or looked at by friends or family or even strangers".
Unapologetically Authentic
You see, this is how I live my life. What you see is what you get. I'm no 'New Yorker' which means I'm not always going to run my mouth and just shout out everything I think about you, or think you should know about yourself. However, if you ask me a question, I will often answer it quite bluntly. A girl once joked, well I don't know how long your 'device' is because I haven't seen it. I immediately answered with the length in centimetres (because I live in Europe and inches are overrated).
It's really funny how people seem to be shocked when you answer the 'implied questions' they sometimes ask you. The amount of openness is scary to them, yet also comforting because they get to learn you really quick. Okay maybe the example above is a bit extreme. But why would I not share I failed my driving exam 3 times before passing? I mean, it happened, it's the truth, and I'm a good driver nowadays so who cares?

Honesty
Trust me, by being open and honest you can be so much happier about yourself, live an easier life, appreciate others and be appreciated by others. There is no point in upholding an 'image' a 'self-esteem' that is based on facades and lies, and wishful thinking. We want to see the real you, and you're beautiful as you are. And if you're not, that's okay too ;)

Yes we are unique that's why we cannot pleased everybody and we should accept and support them.

How do you do that
@fredkese well @tts always puts mine in audio, I don't know why or how but it's nice :)
Personally, i'm very reserved. It's not because I want to uphold an image, but i just feel like keeping me to myself. I hardly tell anyone anything unless it's something very obvious. Your style is great too, we all can't be the same.
@fredkese everyone has their own style and is entitled to doing so. Sometimes I feel though that people who keep their cards close to their chest have a harder time to be liked by other people, or at least understood. Some of them are shy, or wallflowers as we call them sometimes. It's such a shame to only show such a little bit of a beautiful human being :) feel proud and show people what you can do :)
Maybe someday, but not now
:)
Unapologetically Authentic. This phrase is everything. I work in sales and when I meet people from work at an informal gathering they are always surprised that I am the exact same person. They think that working in sales makes us change too much. Most of the salespeople do, and that is why they struggle at work. Unapologetically Authentic is the way to go...
Thanks @miliatsis yes I try to be the same person everywhere as well :) of course I behave a little different at my grandparents than at my friends, but even there I'm surprisingly open and tell them honestly about what is going on in my life. I may just use a different phrasing ;)
