Photos Of My Garden: Time Spent Enjoying The Little Things In Life

in #gardening7 years ago

Yesterday I shut my computer and enjoyed the great outdoors. I've had a million things to do and used the beautiful weather we are having to do some work out in the yard. It was a peaceful day and I explored mother nature and learned new things about the land that I live on.

Funny thing is, last year when we moved into our home on our mountain I was too pregnant and too sick to explore our property very well. Everyday I take walks and learn something new about my home. For example, one day on a walk I found a few walnuts on the ground. I looked around and realized we have two walnut trees! I hate walnuts. They are the biggest pain in the butt to shell but I was excited about the discovery just the same. I also discovered a wild rosebush out in the woods, and more.

Now Onto My Garden...

My Rosebush Is Blooming Beautifully

I really need to find a spot in the yard to plant it so it can grow into a huge bush someday. I'm being indecisive about where I want it to go though.

My Tomatoes Are Getting Bigger

IMG_6520.JPG

I have another actual dirt patch with about 10 plants. My cats used the garden as a litter box so some of the tomatoes are damaged beyond repair. Today I'll have to replant the survivors to see if they'll make it. It was a horrible mess. I even had a fence around the area and heavy objects in the empty patches to keep them out but that didn't stop them.

More Blueberries Are Getting Blue!!

I'm going to have a nice little crop when all is said and done. I might freeze some of the berries for another day. I'll use them for pancakes and muffins.

Found A Single Orange Flower On Poison Ivy Hill

IMG_6485.JPG

I found this flower in an area of the yard I've named Poison Ivy Hill. Every time I get too close to this area I get poison ivy. There's so much of it out here in the woods that just being in the area can give me itchy patches even if I haven't touched the plant. As I write this I've got it all over my legs even though I've been wearing pants out in the yard. Poison Ivy Hill is a beautiful place but not a place I go often.

I just saw this yesterday and it just might be the answer you need for the poison ivy

That orange flower in the midst of it looks like a day lily.

Thanks for the video. It had some great information. Yeah, I don't even have to go near the stuff and I get a rash. I have pool and the chlorine is healing me nicely. Even in the colder months though I tend to get poison ivy.

Your garden is just beautiful.
We should all more spend time in outdoors.
Thank you for sharing @marxrab!

It looks so gorgeous, even the lonesome bloom on poison ivy hill!

Happy Monday⭐️

Looks great, one day I'll learn how to grow blueberries.

Those roses look great! We don't have poison ivy, but we do got mosquitos right now ;)

Followed, and looking forward to more posts!

Your roses are looking fabulous. I'm sure you'll find just the right place to plant it.

Your poor tomato plants. I need to find that spray recipe to keep the cats out for you.

And, if I'm not mistaken, the flower is a daylily. They're perennials. Got tons all along my backyard fence. Not worth getting poison ivy, tho. Feel better!
