Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba received praise from manager Jose Mourinho. Mourinho even called Pogba a "monster".

Pogba appeared as a starter when Manchester United beat Leicester City 2-1 in the opening Premier League match at Old Trafford on Saturday (08/11/2018) early morning hrs. The Frenchman filled the Red Devils midfield with Andreas Pereira and Fred.

Although only a few days back to training after delivering his country to win the 2018 World Cup, Pogba showed no signs of fatigue. Wearing a captain's armband, he became a motor in his team's midfield.

Pogba scored United's opening goal through the penalty spot in the third minute. Shortly after MU doubled the lead through Luke Shaw's goal in the 83rd minute, Pogba was pulled out and replaced by Marouane Fellaini.

"Pogba is a monster. We previously thought that he would play a maximum of 60 minutes, but he could play more than 80 minutes," Mourinho said in a press conference after the game.

"It's not a difficult decision (to install Pogba as a starter). That decision comes from him. With Ander Herrera's injury, I only have two choices, Scott McTominay or Pogba," he added.

"If I play Scott, I will have two children and a new player in the midfield. So, I ask Paul and he proposes himself for the team and very, very good for us," Mourinho was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
