About Stubbornness // Happy 2026 (:

in #life19 days ago (edited)

Greetings, dear Internet travelers!

I've missed writing here, but I've been fortunately working more for the past few weeks. Maybe more on that later, but for right now, I feel like a need to register how full the entrance for the subway was just now, at around 18h30. São Paulo is usually a pretty chaotic city, but it gets crazier during peak hours. And I cannot even complain too much, since some stations such as Luz and Sé get so packed that some people get hurt due to there literally being more people by square meter than its safe to. But here I am, alive and well, on my way to drinking a nice beer, even though it's Monday. Life's beautiful sometimes indeed!

I'm a bit stubborn, there's no running from our nature. But I was a bit surprised when Chat fucking GPT called me stubborn a few days ago.

Yeah, even the probabilities are pointing to the fact that I'm stubborn; but which human being isn't? Stubbornness is not only a really particular word that has three pairs of the same letter in it, but it is also one iconic human trait.

Life is stubborn. It's literally amazing the diversity of possible Life forms that fight so much to stay alive. The deep oceans are a modern classic. There are animals that find their food sources out of the bones of bigger beings. But we don't even need to look so far and deep; have you noticed the most bizarre places that plants continue to appear? To be stubborn is to be alive.

And don't take me wrong, these fucking generative AI models are really stubborn sometimes, too. But it's not even close.

This is my final stretch as my own self of 2025, and we had a good run. Maybe the biggest proof I can present right now of human stubbornness is this post, that I've written through several days, and several different thoughts.

I do, really, hope the next cycle in this calendar is a good one. Maybe sometimes we just need to wish for something better.

"We're all waiting for something amazing to happen."
