Keep drawing, until you get it right

in #art7 years ago

It's a common thing among beginners to be not able to draw exactly how they want their piece to be.
Let's say you want to draw a face, face of someone particular. But after you are done drawing the portrait you are not satisfied because your sketch is looking at you and that is not the person you were trying to draw.
And this is really frustrating. Some time we are really scared to even begin a sketch because we are always afraid that what if this piece doesn't turn out as good as the last one?

I remember that when I drew a portrait or any object and it was good then i paused for a week or two. because everytime i took a paper to draw another thing i was afraid that its not going to be as good as the last one. and that thought kept me from drawing. i put down the paper and thought that its not the right time, lets draw it later.

another major problem that beginners have is that we are really afraid to use the eraser. when they draw something and they look at it, they see that it's not that good, so they should erase it and try to fix it. but they are afraid because what if they make it worse than it is now?

and now i am going to share a drawing. this is what i draw the 2nd time, i can't show you the first time drawn because becoming too much frustrated i destroyed that.

What do you think? I don't know but to me it seemed like not that good.

so i could just leave it to this or erase it and draw again.
but i took another paper and draw this again, the same face.

and take a look what the last time portrait looked like:

this does look better than before.
and i wouldn't be able to draw this if i had just stopped thinking that the previous one is good enough.

I didn't upload this better version through my blog before because i used the lovejuice's minnow promotion for this post where i showed the drawing process too.

Wow very nice :)

thank you....

Great Stuff if I may say so my self, the first few lines I thought were written metaphorically to bring across the point that in life we should never stop trying at whatever we are doing you know "DON'T QUIT" . But then I read further and saw that it was actually about art.

I don't have an eye for art like that but both works looks great to me..Keep doing your thing.

thank you, i am glad that you actually read it........
