My Promo-mentors Writing Challenge | Mentors That Nurtured Me
It's really amazing following @promo-mentors challenge aftrr @dante31 has suggested them to me in one of my blogs. I really appreciate your recommendation.
- I want to use this medium to express my gratitude to those who inspired me to be who I am today. There are a lot of people in this world worth looking up to and idolizing as your role model. For me, the people look up to the most are my Dad and my Art Mentor. They have had considerable impact on my life, career and choices. They are the kind of people one wouldn't want to let go at any point in time.
- Firstly, I would talk about my dad. He is my role model for many reasons. He's the hardest man I had every seen known. His zeal to provide for the demands of the family, desire to lend a helping hand and an ear to not only the family, but anyone in need. To me, he's a true definition of unconditional love. His encouraging and inspiring words keep me moving even when things seem to be tough. Through out my whole life, my dad has helped nurture me into the young man I am today with his wisdom, guidance and experiences. I wouldn't mind to say I am proud to have a father like him.
Secondly, my role model is my Master, Samson Stephen. I call him "Boss". He's my art tutor and I can say without hesitation that he is one of my biggest role model. He studied art at a younger age and dedicated his life nurturing and teaching younger artists. Throughout my stay with him, he has helped mould me to the man I am today. My career would have been something else if I had not come across such a great man.
I was a novice when I first met him but after working under him for a couple of years, I feel like I can also impact such knowledge to others. Whenever a difficult work comes my way, he usually tell me that every new work brings its own challenge and that I should stay calm and face them. His techniques and style of art which he imbibed in me cannot be overemphasized. He has brought out the best in me in a better fashion.
- Finally, writing this without mentioning @wafrica, @artzone #steemit-adventure would not be completed. These communities have helped me, built me and given me hope that I will make it in this community as a whole. At a particular point in time, I thought of quiting steemit cause I wasn't getting the desired rewards as I had planned. However, with the support and encouragement from these three communities, I have built confidence, friendship and rediscovered my lost glory. With these communities, including my new community, @promo-mentors, I believe I will excel beyond my expectations.
These are people that have helped mould me to the man I am today and I am grateful for having them in my life.
