Recently, we finally had the opportunity to see our city from high above again. The view from there always opens up completely different perspectives and allows us to better locate ourselves. Since I can't fly, I have to get up high in some other way. And so I'm usually left with the upper floors of various skyscrapers. But from there I can get a good general view of the world below and can finally let my gaze wander in the distance.

And then I realize again that my current place of residence is not such a bad choice. The sea is within reach and I can be at the water in a relatively short time and satisfy my longing. Even if it is of course quite stormy there in winter and you have to be careful not to be blown over. But I still have a relatively safe standing and therefore dare to go to the coast every now and then. This also helps to get fresh and new thoughts into my head.

In the background you can see the mouth of the Shinanogawa River into the Sea of Japan. The longest river in Japan has finally reached its destination after traveling a 367 kilometer path through 2 prefectures. From up here, the river is a little hard to spot, but since I know where to look, of course I won't miss it.

We were in the temple district and around us were quite a few temples, most of which also had their own cemetery. Seen from above, this gives a whole new perspective and I have now decided when spring comes to walk the "Temple Street" and look at all the action from close up.

The main street allows a view in the direction of the main station, which can't be made out because of all the buildings. Those also block the view of Shinanogawa river, which is roughly behind the white and red antenna tower. If the weather is nice, you can see the mountains in the far background, and fortunately they are not too far away to get there fro some different fun.

Our city can't come up with a panorama like in Tokyo, but nevertheless I also enjoy to let my gaze wander over the sea of houses when it' s dark and the night falls. Down there is life and almost every light tells a different story. Sometimes cheerful and sometimes sad, but mostly genuine and unspoiled.

And that's why I'm looking forward to immerse myself in the life down there again soon and to write and read my own stories. Every now and then I climb back up onto the roof of the world and look at everything from above. And fortunately I realize that I am still alive and that I still have a lot to do.
