The Villa Experience
When going away for an island vacation there are many ways to plan a stay. Accommodation is often the primary factor for many travellers, especially those with family. Suitable accommodation that fits a persons requirements is paramount when searching for the perfect lodging spot. There are a number of things to consider when booking accommodation. The nature of ones holiday and transport logistics often dictate location. However, as Bali is an Island, the public transport links are not like other cities around the world. Probably the best way to get around is through private transport or a taxi so the location of stay isn’t much of an issue. The services, restaurants and type of vibes that one is looking to surround themselves will matter at this stage.
Choosing an accommodation type is no easy choice either. There are a number of different styles to choose from. Backpackers pay opt to stay in hostel type accommodation or homestays. Travellers with family or extended party sizes will often seek hotels, apartments or villa type lodging. I typically stay in hotels or serviced apartments. While in Bali I decided to give the resort villas a try. They received great reviews online and were advertised as generously spacious. This was exactly what I received when arriving, a huge space fit for a big party size with all the luxuries of a high end stay.
