There was a time I talked about The matriculation ceremony of University of Portharcourt (UNIPORT), in steemit through this contest. Today I want to talk about the matriculation ceremony of another university in Rivers State, Portharcourt. The first university I said I talked about was a Federal university and today's talk is for the State University in Portharcourt.

There was also another university that did matriculation at the ending of last month here in Portharcourt, I will tell about the school which is a private university, another day though am not promising to do that. The university that did matriculation in Portharcourt on the 28th day of March, 2025 is known as Rivers State University(RSU) formerly known as Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) and people still call it UST instead of the new name RSU.

As I expected, there was alot of people in the university environment that day, you will always see different people who came from a different state just to see their loved one matriculating. Different cars were seen in the school environment that day as some new students came to the occasion with their parents or relative. Those whose parents doesn't have cars, came to the school that day through public transport.

Alot of students took pictures with their family members, some took pictures with their friends too. The most common one was the part alot of students were taking pictures with their coursemates or friends who are students of the school in a higher level. Alot of departments took group pictures and it was a day many students will never forget.

Food was seen everyone especially in the canopies of parents who came with cars, these people brought alot of food with their car, they had like two coolers of delicious rice with meet, I was really salivating that day. You hardly see people play with food, a friend of mine called me and offered me the opportunity to join them in eating and I called my other friend who I was discussing with to come join us after my friend said the food was excess.

We ate and drank together in a very joyful way and I congratulated my friend who offered us the food, for finally entering the university officially. We told him that after matriculating he will definitely succeed in the school and convocate by the grace of the Almighty God. I thank God the weather was favourable that day and it was when I saw a funny message in the school's WhatsApp channel by the admin, saying that he is surprised that rain didn't fall that day or the matriculation event isn't accepted.

He was actually saying jokingly and the reason he said such a thing is that rain mostly fall on the day of the school's matriculation ceremonies in the past few years. Rain also makes the event not really enjoyable because movements were always restricted or reduced as nobody likes to walk under the rain.
