Before going to Nepal in the plane
After the passenger plane crash at Nepal's capital Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal's air safety records are undergoing fresh discussions. Aviation is very popular in the Himalayan country. But due to poor management of the mountains and lack of investment in aircraft and infrastructure, major accidents have occurred for years. So before heading for the Nepalese plane, there are a few things to keep in mind:
The national record is bad
According to aviation safety network database, in the last three decades, 27 fatal accidents occurred in Nepal, which is an average of every year. Of these, only 20 incidents have occurred in the past decade. Of the seven accidents, more than 18 people were killed. However, all airlines in the country cannot get to the European Union Airport. Most of the aircraft in the country have been in transit. However, one of the most serious accidents happened at the Trivuwan Airport in the runway. In 1992, two more aircraft died due to two months in Kathmandu, more than 280 people died.
Complex terrain
Aerial experts say the challenging terrain of Nepal's aviation accidents is due to high levels. The only international airport in Nepal is located in the narrow valley of 1,338 meters above sea level. There are fewer places to fly the plane. Apart from this, there is lack of advanced radar technology, so the driver has to drive the aircraft. It is called 'Non-Precision Landing'. There is only one runway here. So the plane has to wait a long time to get down, which has created a complex problem right now. Aircraft carriers of Nepal say that the airplane has a chaotic situation in the air base.
Lack of investment
Commercial flights of the international and domestic sectors grew, but the investment in Nepal's air transport sector did not comply with him. There are 11 internal airlines in the small country of three million people. Airport development works for international flights in Pokhara and Lumbini, two major tourist places in the country, have been hovering for years.
Landing on the mountain
Although most of the casualties are in Kathmandu, most of the aircraft-drivers know, going to Nepal's most airports is a very complex accounting issue. It is called the world's most dangerous airport. To get down here, the driver has to cross the narrow gate of the hill and reach a 500-meter long runway. In 2008, an airplane crash occurred in Lukla, so that all the passengers died without the driver. According to the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization, making the country's beautiful but incomplete terrain makes the safety more challenging than other parts of the world in order to operate the aircraft.
Do not learn from mistakes
Some experts complained that the civilian aviation authorities of Nepal did not learn from the suggestions given in past investigation reports. An aviator named Lama complained that the investigating team did not tell details of their work all the time. The people of this sector can not learn much. UK-based aerodynamic expert Andrew Blakey said that he was in a Nepalese airplane investigation in 2016. Where the resources are spent here is one thing. It is difficult to decide where the government will spend, it is difficult to decide. Investigation costs more money means the allocation of funds to other sectors References: AFP.
