I'm very glad to be a member here. In this place , there's guidance in every thing you do,places like newcomers community will help you to know some basics important to key-into this platform; through it's amiable authors. So I'm happy to be part of you. Today,I will be writing on the basic keys and security I have learnt through the guidance of @cryptokannon article on the Achievement Posts. So let me answer the questions required for this Achievement Posts 2.
Question 1; Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Yeah, I retrieve my keys when I signed in to steemit account and I got the keys when I logged in to my wallet using the master key.
Question 2;Do you Know each of these keys functions and their restrictions?
Yes ,these keys has different functions as explained below.
POSTING KEY;this key is basically used to login,post,vote/comment and to follow users on steemit. This is the most used key on steemit.
MASTER KEY;The master key is the most important key on steemit as it's used to change other key's I.E master key supersedes other keys on steemit.
ACTIVE KEY;This key is used to transfer funds and transaction. It can also be used to power up or down on steemit. Active key is used for voting and for converting steem dollars,placing a market order and updating details and Avatar.
MEMO KEY;This key is primarily to encrypting and decrypting labels when transferring funds on steemit.
QUESTION 3;How do you plan to keep your master password.?
To avoid an intruder from accessing my master password word, I will save it in my Email and also create a folder on my phone and save it then hide it.
QUESTION 4;Do you know how to transfer you steem token to another steem user account?
Yes, Steem token can be transferred to another steem user account via this steps.
i).first you have to login with your Active key.
ii). click on wallet dashboard.
iii). click on the triangle shaped icon to display options.
iv). Click on transfer
V). Then input the account name you want to transfer the token to.
Vi). Click on the MEMO and write description then you press confirm.
Vii). Click Next.
Viii). Click okay to confirm.
QUESTION 5; Do you know how to power up your steem?
Yes,I learnt it just while going through those Achievement Posts of @cryptokannon. Powering up is the process of converting your steem to steem power. As learnt, steem power has a great influence in all activities on steemit. The higher your steem power, the higher your position and also your power to vote increases as your steem power increases.
Steps to power up
i). Click on wallet
ii).click on triangle symbol
iii).click on power up.
iv). Input amount of steem to power up then click power up.
In conclusion, the main aim of knowing our basic keys is for us to be able to know the purposes and services it renders to us the users, as well knowing how to store it safely for ascertaining and easy retrieval when needed.
