CPS-acknowledged extortion. No one was fired, and it's still happening.
Extortion is defined as the taking of something of value from someone by the use of threats. If you asked most parents what their most precious possession would be, invariably, they will answer "our children." Using the threat that they will never see their children again is exactly the same threat that most kidnappers use. Kidnapping, of course, is a major crime in almost all jurisdictions internationally.
Kidnapping convictions can result in lengthy prison sentences, including life sentences in some situations and states. Sentences of twenty years or more are common for first degree kidnapping (Source: criminaldefenselawyer.com.) It makes no difference whether the extortion applied is a threat of harm of some type to the victim directly, or to someone the victim loves. It makes no difference whether you are waving a gun in their face as you insist that the objects you desire be turned over to you, or if you use a raised fist, or a piece of paper. It makes no difference if you use trickery in addition to (or instead) of threats.

So-called "child protective" "services" uses extortion all them time to commit kidnapping, and some U.S. states, at least, are finally taking some action. Check out this link:

Here is an excerpt from the link above:
"CPS agencies can and often do take away children entirely on their own authority. Parents then have to go to court days later to try to get their children back. At that point, while the CPS agency has had days to make its case, an impoverished parent – and it’s almost always an impoverished parent – if she has a lawyer at all probably met her overwhelmed public defender for the first time five minutes before the hearing.
The standard of proof is not beyond a reasonable doubt as in a criminal proceeding, or even the middle standard, “clear and convincing.” Instead, CPS need merely persuade the judge that it is slightly more likely than not that the child needs to remain in foster care – the same standard used to determine which insurance company pays for a fender-bender."

The article above is about the use of "color of law" "contracts" that North Carolina CPS agents were using regularly until just last year that were shoved in a parent's face in the middle of the night with the threat that if the parents don't immediately sign that the big burly guys dressed in police uniform with night sticks, side arms and those enormous flashlights standing right there in their living room will take their kids away. Sometimes this also occurs just after a very nearby display of actual violence has already been committed...A busted door, or a dead dog, or what have you.
While North Carolina has taken some action to stop this particular extortion/kidnapping charade, up to and including the state taking direct control of CPS in their worst offending county, this video makes the case that many other states are still doing the same thing:

Also, sadly, NO ONE WAS FIRED in North Carolina. While it is beyond the scope of this article, some are claiming that CPS in most jurisdictions (inside the U.S.A. and internationally) is not truly even an actual sub-unit of a legitimate government, but a private agency using "cover of law" as well, to claim some form of legitimacy. But, either way, the tactics that are used that involve signing some sort of document (sometimes known as a "safety plan" or "child safety placement," or "custody and visitation agreement") that purportedly gives CPS legal cover is as blatantly illegal under REAL law as any street thug sticking you up on a dark street corner.
No one ever seems to get fired at CPS. That, in and of itself, deserves a serious national discussion. Committing serious crimes like extortion and kidnapping should carry heavy penalties for ANYONE, and perhaps even greater penalties for violators of the public trust who do it while ON THE PUBLIC PAYROLL and while employed to "serve" the public and to "protect children" when they do these things that manifestly harm the public and put children at PROVEN greater risk.
There is no clearer proof that Western nations have been intentionally been divided against themselves by government fiat into "us" and "them" than CPS-like color-of-law agencies that get away with MAJOR CRIMES in the name of the public weal. The saddest part for true "law and order" is that most law enforcement agencies, to their reputational detriment, often aid and abet the commission of these crimes. And then, they wonder why they public has lost faith and trust in them..???
It is not the "final solution" of vigilantism when LEOs refuse to follow obviously illegal orders of out-of-control bureaucrats. It is justice. It is the road back from the abyss. Law enforcement academies are failing all of us when they refuse to teach Constitutional rights, especially parental rights. For these officers to then later fail to intervene when a CPS caseworker is committing this type of extortion is not so much their fault as it is the politicians and bureaucrats who oversee the police academy curricula.
If that can't be cleaned up--and that is almost as big a task as cleaning up whole governments--then those jurisdictions that still get to elect a sheriff had better make sure they hire the right one, because the courts have also been perverted, in many areas, to accept some CPS "right" to act above the law and even to lie directly to distraught, indigent parents. A good sheriff, properly knowledgeable about the real "law of the land" in many areas, can stop the whole process dead in its tracks by refusing to act as agents of CPS, and/or by intervening in errant seizures and restoring children.
In fact, one route back from the insanity of CPS having access to quasi-courts that act outside of proper legal procedure is for local jurisdictions to also have common law courts set up, condoned by their elected sheriffs. Of course, these are frowned upon by entrenched bureaucrats and politicians, but they CAN work if the people and their elected sheriff support them in opposition to the corrupted courts set up by people with a profit incentive to color the law in their particular coloring book. There are ways to address corruption and illegal activities on the part of CPS inside some of the established courts as well, of course, but that has become more and more of a crap shoot for parents who may not understand the legal process, be good at vetting potential representation (or given no choice in their representation,) and/or who lack the financial resources to get a good lawyer who is not only sympathetic to their plight but who knows how to fight CPS and their underhanded tactics.
If CPS remains on its current downward trajectory into total lawlessness and depravity, the only thing left will become vigilantism. That would result in utter chaos, of course, and is to be avoided at almost all costs...all, that is, but continuing to allow extortion and kidnapping to run rampant and unchecked.
When government fails in its most basic responsibility--the protection of it's citizens and subjects--it's time for a new government. It's pretty pure and simple. But, it is also an unpredictable and very dangerous proposition.
Still, there comes a point when nothing is more dangerous than the government needing reform.
Total reform is our only hope of peaceful resolution. These people are scum-vermin!

Right...but they got that way somehow. We may need to start by arresting communist professors.
Well, they believe in from everyone according to their ability, to each according to their need...So we should compost them, after all, it IS ALL they are good for! We can add these CPS scum-vermin too, we just need to grind them very fine....
>:(
They'd make great fertilizer, being so full of BS and all...That's for sure!
We have a Plan! Sounds like a good use of material, ROFLOL!
