A Filipino Snack Called Toron
Toron is a Filipino street food. It's a ripe banana wrapped in a spring roll wrap or crepe and deep-fried in oil. Sugar is mixed in the oil to make a caramel that would coat the toron to give it a sweet coating. What I love about toron is it is crunchy and sweet on the outside and the burst of the ripe banana-filling at the core. The bamboo skewer makes it convenient to bring the snack anywhere, thus, making this one of the best-selling street food in the Philippines.
