Introduction:

‎In an open discussion, I overheard a stranger talking about how politicians works, how they promised the citizens this and that but when they elected them into the power, they change, they embezzle money and sometimes only people from their tribe or constituency benefits for them.

‎Interesting because what he said is not far from the truth. It seems like everyone knows what's in the seat and they try anything possible to get it. Out of curiosity I asked him: if you're given the power to be the president or governor today or tomorrow what's the first thing you'll do? Guess his answer(I will tell you at the end of this post)

‎But for me If I were given full authority for just one year in my country, I wouldn't start with roads, water, or electricity, my primary focus would begin with education. Why? like they say, education is the seed that grows every other solution we dream of.

If you were given full authority for one year in your community or country, what is the first issue you would address?

‎What I noticed about School is that it teaches students to read hard, study hard, pass exam and chase certificates. But they're not likely to teach them how to create jobs or opportunity, manage money, or survive in the real world. So in my tenure if it been given to me I would make financial education, entrepreneurship, and real-life skills mandatory in every curriculum.

‎So Instead of school studentsto teach student to wait for opportunities, with my new reform they’ll learn how to create them.

Why did you choose this issue over others?

‎Let me give a personal example:

‎In school, I was taught that drug abuse is dangerous and there are authorities to prevent it. But when I stepped into the real world, I saw those same authorities abusing drugs. In many occasions I will see a police officer smoking to feel high, not once, not twice but several times. So tell me, if the government officials are using the drug so that they can work, what do you think will happened to the citizens?

‎From that I realized that the gap between theory and reality is massive. And that’s the same in finance, people leave school only to wait for jobs, send CVs endlessly, or settle for salaries that don’t match the effort they put in. The school says: study hard, get good certificates so that you can get a high paying job but in reality 90% of this graduate are still jobless.

‎So this give me the foundation of bringing something different, something new into the system. We need to equip young people with real knowledge:
meeting-2284501_640.jpg

‎- How to make money work for them
‎- How to build assets, avoid liabilities
‎- How to become financially independent
‎- How to think like problem-solvers, not just job-seekers

What is that one difficult decision you would have to make?

‎The hardest and most criticized decision I’d make? Reducing textbook-based learning and replacing it with practical, project-based, entrepreneurial training. It might sound weird. You read it correctly because from what I have experience, I can say the practical aspect is more important than the theory.

‎Why do I say so? let me give you example from my trading experience. As a trader the most important thing to be successful in not about watching videos, reading and all of that, but the practical on the chart. You'll come to realize some mistakes and secret when you study the charts and that's what make you know what to do to be successful in your journey. So when I talk about removing textbooks I have my reasons.

‎So let's Imagine a case of replacing our popular and fond question like “write an essay on farming” with “grow a crop and sell it.” Or what about replacing “theory of business” with “build and pitch your own mini business idea.” Something like this will help a student to grow even while in school.

How would you explain this decision to people who disagree with you?

‎I know this decision would not go well with everyone especially those who their main targets is on insecurity.

‎Let me use Nigeria as example. I you're on news, there's no way you won't hear about kidnapping case and a lot of people would like to put an end to it. S when I bring the idea of education instead of targeting insecurity, there would be a lot of disagreement.

‎If everyone is making busy with their business and seeing the profit, trust me all this gbas gbos (crime rate)would reduce.

‎"How many people do you know who are truly happy with their salary even after 10–15 years of work?"

‎I believe all of them know about the high cost of foodstuffs and the salary is not increasing instead it reducing. That's to tell you that salary now can not satisfy the financial needs that's why a lot of people go into different paths to earn passive income.

‎Many people you're seeing today doing content or online business didn't just start for fun because they weighed it and they see that it will pay their bills. I earn 25k monthly but my expenses is more than that. Imagine if I were taught about financial education in school, how to build business and investing, by now I would have build my empire: MHIZTA CHOSEN VENTURE

‎Because of time let me remind you of people who created passive income, built businesses, or invested wisely. How? They left school. Common one are Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Facebook and Elon musk. These people don’t work harder, they were simply taught how to think differently. That’s the goal of this reform.

Conclusion:

‎If we fix education, we fix everything else. An empowered mind is the most powerful tool a nation can have. Let’s build a system that raises creators, not just people looking for jobs year in year out.

Takeaway: (continue from the introduction gist) the man jokely say he would take what belongs to the same way others do, he doesn't need to explain because I already know what he's talking about.

‎I place my invitation to @josepha @saintkelvin17.

Hi @mhizta, welcome to thinking and ideas week 1

My Observations:

I love your idea... The practical part should be looked into more. It is said that practice makes perfect, but students prefer the easy way to pass and excel leaving nothing upstairs.

I hope your government do better.
