2Co 12:1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2Co 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 2Co 12:3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 2Co 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

It is my thoughts today that our walk with God, in Christ, should be a heavenly experience, even while we are yet still on earth. Yet that experience cannot trump or override what is written in the Word of God. We should experience God in our lives, but our experience must line up with the Word. When something spiritual happens in our lives, we must test it with the written Word and the unction of the Holy Spirit.

Evan Roberts

Evan Roberts was a revivalist used by God in the Great Welsh Revivals in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There are many things we could speak about here, but my focus is where Evan Roberts reported to have encounters with Jesus that would last over an hour. One account I read said Jesus would appear to Evan every night for over a month.

This is not to put the spotlight on Evan Roberts, but on Jesus and from our biblical studies we can see He is sometimes in the habit of revealing Himself to a believer or unbeliever at the time He chooses.

For me what really gives validity to Evan’s account of seeing Jesus, He led over 100,000 people to Christ and even today the effects of this man walking with Jesus, are still prevalent today.
