Speaking The Truth in Love (WORD)

Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Our Words can tear a person down or they can build another person up (edify)

Once a word leaves our mouth it cannot be taken back. We need to be really careful what we say. With the same mouth we can bless or be a blessing and then we can curse in tear another person down. Some people are constantly criticizing or speaking negative things. The thing is, it really doesn’t matter what a stranger says to you. It never bothers me when a person that I don’t know says something to me that is negative. But it is when a person close to you says harmful and thoughtless things. This is sometimes hard to deal with and we must have a heart to forgive.

My focus today is not what others say, but for what do we use our own words.

My 5 year old boy, sometimes will jump on my lap, put both hands on my face and say, “Daddy look at me, look into my eyes.”. Then he will say, “I love you and you are a blessing to me”.

As a parent, our kids are watching and they will imitate our behavior. If we are angry, critical, loud, and constantly tearing others down, most likely we will raise a bully or someone like us. My son did this, because it is exactly what I do to him sometimes.

I am not promoting flattery.

Job 17:5 He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

Psa 12:2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
Psa 12:3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

1Th 2:5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

AS OUR TEXT SAYS, “SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE”

Sometimes we must correct with our words, but we must make sure that our motives are pure and it is out of love.

Jas 5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

I guess the “Golden Rule” is how we should deal with others in every situation.

When we correct someone we should do it in the same manner as we would want to be corrected.

If we see someone that is fighting a battle, how would we want to be treated if we were fighting the same thing?

Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

God, please help us to be motivated by love as we interface with other people today. Guard my tongue that what I say will edify and not destroy others. In the Name of Jesus, I pray! Amen!

Thank you for your time.
Blessings
Daddy William

A tree is not known by its name, but by its fruit.

Know that being Christ on Earth is accepting the blasphemy that you are a Son of God: “To those that believe in me, I give the right to sit at the Right hand of the Father.”

We need to built people up and not break them down, we need to think before we speak.
