Have you played this game? “Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies” is personally my favorite game for the 3DS so far.

You take on the role of a young villager named Tiz Arrior whose village is destroyed after it is consumed by an abyss known as the Great Chasm taking his younger brother, Til with it. After the incident, Tiz wakes up in the town of Caldisla where he meets his three traveling companions. Agnes Oblige, Ringabel and Edea Lee.

Agnes photo

Agnes is the Wind Vestal in charge of guarding the Wind Crystal, one of the four crystals in the game that keep the land thriving. The crystal is now shrouded in darkness and Agnes must revive it.

ringabel

Ringabel is a curious fellow who is popular with all the ladies, however he lost his memory and now goes by the name Ringabel. The only source of memory he has is a journal that tells the future.
He travels with the group in order to find out who he is.

Endea lee
Edea Lee is a princess whose father is after Agnes. After a rough battle she decides to travel with the gang to find out the truth about what’s going on.

Rating: This fame got a rating of T for Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, Mild Suggestive Themes, and the use of alcohol. I wasn’t able to see any blood while playing the game and the fantasy violence refers to battling in the game which I fail to believe should’ve support this game getting the rating it did.

There is however use of alcohol but not much, and some of the characters’ language along with some of the outfits are not suitable for a younger audience. This game is not game for children, that being said, it doesn’t take away the fact that this game is still a good game.

Gameplay:

Throughout this game you won’t have to do a lot of reading because the character dialogue is voiced the whole time. Whether you’re trying to 100% the game or just trying to beat it in general, you are going to be leveling up a lot. In this game you get a massive amount of jobs for each character such as black mage, warrior, white mage, thief, etc. You have the option of switching between jobs at any point in the game, leveling them up, and getting new skills with them as well. In this game you are allowed to use one job and a secondary meaning you get to use the abilities of two jobs for each character. Some of the skills and attacks you have to buy from stores.

I recommend buying them all before exiting the town you’re in because they are really helpful. In this game battles are turn based, however the battle style is a little different from similar games. Each character is allowed to attack four times per turn. However if you choose to attack more than once per turn you have to wait an extra turn for each extra time you attack before you can attack again.

This is called Brave, however you also have to ability to default witch is like the ability defend but every time you choose to defend you build up to three points that allow you to brave without having to wait to attack again.

The enemies are allowed to do this as well, so it makes the game a little more challenging and takes some getting used to if you’re new at it.

In this game you enter into a battle at random while walking outside of towns. Unless you are low on life or mana I suggest you battle because the more you level up the easier enemies will be. Also each boss has their own unique fighting style and there are multiple points in the game where you will be fighting more than one boss at a time. In every dungeon or area that you access your map is blank until you map it out yourself. In each dungeon there are hidden areas that don’t show up on your map that have powerful items in them if you can find them.

Likes: This game has two alternative endings. Get the good ending and you will be given a cut scene to the sequel.
Also if there is some activity going on in a town they will let you know with exclamation marks in that area on your map. Blue being side quests and orange being the main quest.
If you walk into the area and can’t find the exclamation point then it means you need to wait until night or day depending on what time you go in, for there to be activity going on.

Dislikes: There’s not anything I can say that I really hate about this game.
