I really need to find a good neck pillow that will work for me

in #health6 years ago (edited)

I have been experiencing some numbness in my fingers, hands, and arms during the night. I have been told that I should be sleeping with a pillow under my head. I've never been able to sleep with a pillow before at night, and I sleep on my side. I've spent a lot of money looking for a good neck pillow, and I still haven't found one.

Last night, I tried a memory foam pillow with cooling gel in it. It was supposed to be specifically designed for my problem, but I still couldn't tolerate it. After only a few hours, I ended up throwing it out of bed. Also, it is extremely heavy, and difficult to move, so throwing it out of bed was not an easy task. The pillow is so heavy that I'm afraid that if I try to throw it out of bed again, it might land on my face, and smother me!

I've been very frustrated looking for a pillow that will work for me. The problem with pillows is that they won't let you return a pillow. Once you buy it, you're stuck with it for the rest of your life. As perhaps you can imagine, I have an extremely large collection of pillows that do not work for me. I have cerebral palsy, and extreme tightness in my neck, so I really need to find a neck pillow that will work, but so far, I've had no luck. Memory foam can be great, but it can also be too soft. Other types of pillows tend to be so fluffy that I just can't get comfortable with them. I have spent night after night fighting with different pillows. If anyone has any suggestions about what might be a good pillow for me, please let me know. Does anyone have neck problems, and if so, what has worked for you in the past? Thank you for reading!
