Panagbenga Floral Float parade 2018

Panagbenga is a yearly flower festival celebrated every February which takes place in the heart of Benguet Baguio City, Philippines. “Panagbenga” originated from the Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming”. This festival was originally called Baguio Flower Festival. It reflects the traditions, values and history of Baguio and the Cordilleras. It lasts over a month and flourishes through (Bayanihan) community involvement.

The grand floral float parade is the most awaited event at the Panagbenga Festival every year. This year the grand float parade was witnessed on February 25, 2018. It has two categories. The small float category and the big float category. Lots of flowers were used to build the floats which are judged based on creativity, presentation, dramatic impact and floral craftsmanship.

I really appreciate the effort and time given by the artist's behind these floats. One float would take weeks and months just to complete it. There is also the challenge on keeping those flowers fresh to have it's best appearance during the parade. I would like to give a shout out to all those artist behind it for sharing and showcasing their world class Filipino talent.

To sum it up, this event was very successful..Many patrons always travel yearly just to witness and experience this wonderful festival and according to them it gets better every year. It was broadcasted live on television and still many tourist flocked the city which resulted in heavy traffic and congestion of the city but for them it was still fun and worth it having to witness such festival.
