Keys and Laced Links
When I read @simplymike’s posts. I see what a strange strange trip it’s been. One day spammer’s make an interesting comment about how to get a life tine of upvotes just register here . Don’t click that button.
Most likely it is a laced link that will take you to a page that looks like Steemit but is really an alternate reality of hackdome. Your keys will be stolen and if you are using the owner then definitely the hackers will log in and change the password. These accounts are then emptied out and sold at Bittrex. Hold on to you hats for the trip this post will take you.
Cheshire Cat
A Cheshire cat smiles with temptation
What is a girl to do?
She doesn't know
Where she is
Going
What
She
Is
Doing
Come and click this link
You will be fine for a life time of upvotes
If you do it now I'll buy you a glass of wine.
It doesn't matter if you don't know
Where you are going
Or where you came from
Just take a bite and it will take you
to worlds you never knew
Beyond your wildest imagination.
Candy From Strangers
Candy, chocolate, ice cream all for the children of the kingdom a candy land surprise
Chitty chitty bang bang back fires as exhaust fumes jam the gears.
If only I didn't leave the keys in the ignition
Our trip would be a much safer ride.
Would you take candy from a stranger?
Where does it take you and what does it show?
Exactly the same but altered reality.
Stolen keys and drive away
Possessed by another and out of control.
A trusted name and avatar are now behind the wheel
of another chauffeur
Driving the username insane.
Don't let this happen to you.
Keep your keys in a safe place.
And keep driving with a smile on your face.
So what do you do now?
Do check out @simplymike's contest to promote security awareness. Don't take links from strangers. Make sure your owner key is not kept online. If it online it may be best to change the owner key and keep it offline. Keep your owner key written down in a safe place. Then log back into Steemit with your posting key. Use your active key to make wallet transactions. Keep the owner keys locked away in place offline that only you know. And report phishing scams to @steemcleaners on their discord channel. Thank you for visiting@prydefoltz. I think a poem is a good way to spread @simplymike's message.
Very creative way to spread the message, @mineopoly. Thanks!
Just one thing: for daily logins, you should use your private posting key. If you do that and you happen to make a mistake, your funds will be safe. The private active key should only be used when making a transaction.
Thanks @simplymike. I will edit that. :)
Good reminder Christopher of how to use extra precautions with your a/c. Wow! It always amazes how many a/c’s get hacked and everything is gone into digital space.
That is the perfect giffy to follow @redheadpei.
