Where is your strength?

Many times we are faced with different challenges but as we overcome each one it makes us stronger and more prepared for the coming challenges. Imagine there are three people living in a house Mr A, Mr B and Mr C. And then Mr C gets infected with chicken pox, Mr A has had chicken pox in the past but Mr B has not. Who do you think is at the risk of contacting the chicken pox? Am sure your guessing Mr B and youy correct because Mr A's has had it in the past and his body had been able to build immunity against it he is safe. But Mr B who has not had it is at a risk if he has not been vaccinated.
But some Christians go through some difficult challenges and never recover and you are tempted to ask yourself why? You will get to know why as we go further.

28:1To you I call, O LORD my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit.
28:2Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
28:3Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts.
28:4Repay them for their deeds and for their evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back upon them what they deserve.
28:5Since they show no regard for the works of the LORD and what his hands have done, he will tear them down and never build them up again.
28:6Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy.
28:7The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
28:8The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
28:9Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever. Psalm 28:1-9

In the passage above the psalmist cried unto God for help he went on to describe God as his rock, but what am more particular about is verse 7 & 8 where he said

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.28:8The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

Now let me ask you this question where does your strength lie? Is it in the Lord or in money, material things, power, fame, or in fellow mortal men. Many times people who call themselves Christian and are supposed to rely solely on Christ tend to put their strength and confidence in other things, now when there is a challenge just like a building without a solid foundation they come crashing down because their strength was not in Christ.

15:1"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
15:2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
15:3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
15:4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
15:5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
15:6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
15:7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
15:8This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. John 15:1-8

From the passage above we can see Christ's promise to us if we remain in him and put all our trust and strength in him. Christ made it clear that no branch can bear fruit itself except it remains in the vine so also we draw our strength by remaining in Christ, without Christ we Stand no chance against the dark forces of this wicked world. There is the assurance of an eternity with Christ and lastly Christ promised that if we remain in him whatever we ask will be given unto us.
I pray that the grace to put our full confidence and strength in Christ alone be granted unto us.
