Freedom to Control or Freedom of Control
Hi reader, lastweek I made a post about many things, if you missed it, it will be really helpful for you to go back and catch up, here is the link don't say I didn't tell you so.
You deserve all the accolades(I'm not talking about you). This statement seems to have taken over the social media space more than any other statement that usually generates a buzz. It is a statement that expresses a sort of gratitude or appreciation to a recipient e.g " John scored 50 goals in one match, infact he was a Ronaldo on the field, He really deserves all the accolades ". Any other usage is as deemed fit by the user.
I took a big step last week and I realized something, it is true that the result of hard work is more hard work, Something sparked up in me, the rise of a new dawn, the ignition of a new force unleashed to flow through my fingers like you've never seen before.
The world is about to behold a new light, you are about to have a new experience and it all began lastweek when you decided to read my post If you haven't read that post, I really advice you to. The point of a post is to educate, inform, discuss, rant, pass a message, but if your message cannot be understood, then you have only made a po and the st is not just on steemit. Time is precious and can't be gotten back, so why waste your time on a post, when you won't get the message, hence my reason for the emphasis about this post
In the first post, i said you have made it, do you now know why? You have made it because you have come this far into my world of many things, you must have discovered many things about me, and mostly about yourself, if you think I'm wrong then you need to go back to the first post because you have missed the whole point.
Moving forward, a thought popped in my head yesterday and it is going to lead us to great discovery of many things.
What is freedom to you?
Freedom on a layman's terms may mean "not being bound, being loose, unrestricted". However, freedom is a term that has a million meanings in one, each astounding in their uniqueness and application in edification and expansion of the body of knowledge.
I came across a friends post this morning and this was his view on freedom, how elaborate?
Freedom is not in the unlimited action of the individual, it is in the maximization of opportunity and flourishing of the group. Success isn't found in the achievement of the peaks, it is in the lifting of suffering from the lowest reaches. Freedom is found when we are uninhibited to give of ourselves all we can to the world, only then are the constraints that hold us back as a singular and a piece of the whole removed
You can find more here
Freedom is not the abundance of what you can do, but in the maximization of opportunities brought about and created by that freedom, a free man who acts or thinks as if he's been bound is as good as a bound man, what you hold in your mind tends to occur in your life. What is freedom to you?
We can look at another perspective from an interesting article I found
Freedom stands for something greater than just the right to act however I choose—it also stands for securing to everyone an equal opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
To most reasonable people, freedom means more than just ‘free to do whatever I want’. Taken literally, that approach would produce anarchy—every man, woman, and child for himself or herself. Fortunately, none of us has to live that way (unless you’re reading this in Somalia or a similar disaster area).
Certainly freedom does mean the right to do as one pleases—to think, believe, speak, worship (or not worship), move about, gather, and generally act as you choose—but only until your choices start to infringe on another person’s freedom.
This still leaves a great deal of latitude. There is a long list of things that one can say, and say freely, for example, that excludes shouting “Fire!” in a crowded theater.
One way to think of this is the difference between “freedom of” (or “freedom to”) and “freedom from”—a point eloquently made by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his State of the Union Address delivered on January 6, 1941:
We look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.
The first is freedom of speech and expression—everywhere in the world.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way—everywhere in the world.
The third is freedom from want—which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants—everywhere in the world.
The fourth is freedom from fear—which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor—anywhere in the world.

Through these, ive been able to deduce that freedom in itself is an incomplete word. For better understanding of the expression of the word, i decided to categorise it into two parts.
Freedom to and freedom of(confused)
-Freedom of speech is different from freedom to talk
The fact that you have the freedom of going anywhere does not mean you have the freedom to go anywhere, in my little head, this kind of makes sense. Lets take for example, you have the freedom of leaving your country to another, but you dont have the freedom to go to another country without being permitted to either by some legal body or by obtaining immigration permission. Freedom to talk, just as it sounds means you can talk without control, whereas freedom of speech means you can speak, but only responsibly, which means with control
There once lived a military Nigerian President who was more of a dictator while he was in service. He was known for his notoriety for silencing anyone that opposes his authority or stands in his way, and by silencing i don't mean reducing in volume of sound i mean elimination. He had a favorite sentence he was very famous for and it goes, "Freedom of speech is guaranteed, freedom of after speech is not". As funny as that sounds, a lot of people suffered by it.
Freedom Management
How do we manage our freedom, should freedom be managed?
Of course freedom is not lack of management, un-managed freedom is madness, except if one leaves alone on an isolated Island. For every act of freedom, there is a resulting reaction. A lot of time, this resulting reaction might not necessarily be felt by the person exercising the freedom but by other people. If every human being expresses their freedom the way they want, then this world will be unbearable as we are diverse in our wants, needs, desires and drive. Hence there is need for regulation, by bodies who have been nominated by the general populace based on metrics pulled from the personnel's history. These personnel's are entrusted with development, review and communication of different regulations to ensure there is adequate understanding and enforcement of the regulations developed. These personnel's are also given authority to take appropriate action against any act by any people(s) who are found violating these regulations.
If freedom cannot be expressed is it still freedom?
I will love to know your thoughts then we can move on into the real discoveries i have in store for you.
I hope you had a nice read
I think freedom in itself is sometimes misconstrued If you claim there is freedom to.. to me is more to a fundamental right
Freedom of on the other hand means that you can exercise that freedom within the purview of certain rights.
Freedom that cannot be exercised is not freedom.
You guarantee of using your freedom is not sure because you may have the freedom but how it is exercised goes a long way
Thank you so much for your understanding and contribution. This is true, both sides need to be manned by responsibility.
Are we then to say that Freedom is in itself a facade?
Liberty too, must be limited in order to be possessed.
This is my next line of discussion, thank you
