National Railway Museum York

Today I'm visiting the National Railway Museum in York.
Here is where you will find everything you would like to know about steam engines. From Stevenson's Rocket to the Mallard the fastest steam train in history.

The Rocket

Sounds like you are having a marvelous time and getting some good pictures!

It's brilliant. So many fascinating things to see and the City of York is just stunning.

I do so love the Railway Museums and fawning over the old ones. I am really enjoying the pictures you send back!!! I look forward to more and your update!

Upped and Steemed!

It was a great trip and I'm glad to be back in the 21st century. The broadband speeds where I was staying is from the 1980's lol.
So slow!

Welcome back!

Thanks @dswigle I am bushed. It was a great trip now I need a rest lol.
Normal service will resume on Monday ;)

I look forward to it!

I remember reading about the Rocket but not sure i ever saw a photo of it it sure looks like it would have bene a speed demon in its time

The first passengers thought that they would not be able to breath at such a high speed!? ;)

LOL how times and perceptions have changed ;)

They had to have a guy walking in front with a red lamp to warn the public!? lol

lol I never knew that LOL do dangerous

Beautiful photos! Beautiful trains! I developed "a thing" for passenger trains in New York.

They sure were swanky back in the day. So plush and cute looking too.

You are getting some really cool pics!

It was a very impressive display of steam engines and the passenger cars were so luxurious too. So different compared to today's trains.

They are big ! Great piece of history.

They are massive when you get up close. Brilliant museum with tons of exhibits.

That last train looks like one right out of Thomas the Tank Engine -that conjures some memories.

They are truly incredible machines. Such power just from steam is mind boggling. There were a few Thomas the tank engine types there as well. Super family fun experience.

My friend, a kind reminder here.
#cn tag is stand for chinese.
However, no chinese was detected in this article.
Please use wisely for your tag, thank you

I've changed the tag to China as it relates to the largest engine on display here which was used in China!
My understanding of the cn tag was/is for anything related to China!?
