Greetings to steem-cameroon!

Introduction

I'm glad to be right back here and I miss y'all steemit friends! It's been weeks without dropping a post but it's all going to stop because I'm bouncing back with my full self as I'm going to include the reason for my absence here in this ecosystem.

I traveled with my kids to the village two weeks back and it was a whole lot of fun and characterized by farming and Harvesting crops from the farm. Though we enjoyed our stay in the village but I must say it wasn't easy living there for two weeks without lights due to a blackout in the village's transformer.

On our way to the village

This made my stay in the village less creative in steemit because I wasn't able to use my Android phone. Most of the times my phone was off because where I stayed I will walk for over an hour before I could charge my phone on an overpopulated solar system because almost every one in that my location was using it.

As such, it was unable to charge well and really saw need of affording a power bank next time I'm visiting home. This made me to go for two or more days without charging up my phone and thus I couldn't take pictures of beautiful activities I carried out.

Some of the activities was working in the farm with my sons, harvesting huckleberry andIrish potatoes and beans. Oh nooo! Not forgetting my garri processing that I did with my kids. It was such a tedious activity but was very important because the cost of garri in the market was very expensive.

Removing and replanting cassava

I will talk more about the garri as I have few pictures of us working on it. We harvested the cassavas tubers a day before and started the peeling the next morning. It was a tedious activity because we were working on time given to us by the guy who moved round with his diesel machine to grind the tubers. My mum helped us peeled and washed too.

Peeling the cassava tubers and grinding using the diesel machine

An hour after washing, it was grounded into a paste where we added water and tied in a bag for three days and on the fourth day, we started frying it. In- between these days, we pounded and tied the bag so tight that the water comes out from it.

On the third day was the frying process which my kids used a substitute of a sieve and sieved the fresh garri paste before I started frying. We made both white and yellow garri because I love eating eru with white garri and the yellow garri us for soaking 🥰.
We spent the whole day frying in turns because it was about 2 buckets of garri and I shared with my elder brother.

After frying the garri, the next day, we started preparing for our things by harvesting the food we brought back to town. My children caught this rat mould in one of their traps and we roasted it and kept. Two days after, so early in the morning, we carried our foodstuffs to the road where we later took a cab to town.

Conclusion

I had a very nice time in the village and my only regrets was the blackouts. I'm grateful to my steemit friends @chiabertand, @wirngo and others who continued mentioning me for their posts and checking up on me continually. Thank you guys a lot and I know I have friends that I couldn't have had if not of steemit.
Thank y'all for reading 🌹🌹🌹🙏
