My thoughts about steem
Even though steem is still on its infancy stage and has not yet shown a substantial amount of achievement that can literally overthrow its centralized counterparts, for those who truly understand what steem really is, it has the potential to do so.
And I also believe that steem has so much potential. I mean it while thinking about the possibilities that you can become in this platform. Contrary to what people think outside the chain, we are not just a writer or a blogger, which I can't use to label myself. My contents doesn't satisfy any of those standing.
There are times when I tell my friends about steem and ask me what do I do in the steem platform. I just simply answer by saying "I share my insights and things that I enjoy doing". Because I find it difficult to categorize the whole community into something similar outside our chain. For example, Instagram is for photography, Facebook is simply for social media, Quora is Q&A site, Medium is for writers and so on.
The point is Steem(it) is not just one them because it could be all of them! But the things is, it's too early to claim that Steem can take-on everyone one of them in a single roof. There's just too many hurdles that prevent steem from accomplishing everything that the counterparts have established. And it can't tackle each and everyone of them at the same time unless, we, all of the steem users can unite and work on a single goal and be centralized? It sounds absurd since we claim that steem platform is decentralized, which for a layman like me would simply take it as "total freedom".
As a whole, I don't think we can act on a series of steps that is orchestrated an entity and work on it diligently since each individual have their own interest, goal, and a way of doing things.
