Merry X-mas and a Happy New Year from Jim and I!

Here's a photo taken by an american tourist when I jumped the fence at Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. It was the beginning of my trek through the nether as a traveling street musician. I visited the altar of a God to bless me on my nomadic mission to save the world with politically inclined street music.

Notice the beer in one hand in mouth and the cigarette in the other. Quite soon after the picture was taken a security guard materialised out of nowhere! I had already gotten back over the forefront of steel time and gotten away with my crime. Alas, the security guard still required to control me in some regard and so requested I tip out the entirety of my beer. Obviously drinking beer in cemeteries is wrong!

This was more than five years ago now and well, I haven't saved the world yet by such means, but I have given it a good go in Europe, UK and Turkey.

As yet, I've learned that people don't want to change unless it is their decision.

So, telling people what to do doesn't work? What to do?

Also the guitar I have here is a really nice Takamine I bought with honest labour from working at an organic tomato farm in northern New South Wales, Australia. I had the opportunity to own it only for a couple of months because a couple of days after this picture was taken I slept alone in a public park in Barcelona having hitched down over the border and awoke to find it gone!

I was relieved for it to be missing for whatever reason but, long story short, nice things are not necessarily permanent.

I have had Nine guitars since then.

Life is full of ups and downs, ebbs and flows.

I'm making a new year's resolution to learn a whole set of 33 new songs for my new street list. I'm open for suggestions. So what are they? They have to be popular, easily recognizable songs, must have some musical credibility in them and be fun to perform. I'll make improvs of some and do some exactly as they are written. So suggest away!
